I've decided to put a yahoo group together for Firefly Fans in Canada called Canadian Browncoats.
If you live in Ontario, there is a possibility that meetups could also be planned but anyone across Canada is welcome to join.
If you are interested, please join me at

Thanks to everyone who has joined up.
Perhaps we could plan a Shindig in Toronto, Canada to coincide with either Toronto Trek or SFX in Toronto for summer 2005.

I'm always amused when people do this. It's almost like our country is so small that we can't have provinces

I meant to write - Toronto, Ontario - Not Toronto, Canada.
I need more sleep and fewer marquaritas. ;)

I wasn't making fun, just pointing out funny things we tend to do. Just one of the common misconceptions of Canada - ie we are small - which by what we write and say... well... we don't really help matters. But, quite frankly, at least I have fun doing

I don't see this type of signature out here in the west ... I'd say that's more of a Toronto-habit.
Cheers,
Annik
... my sister's a ship. We had a complicated childhood.

I'm in Winnipeg, which I believe is considered West. Although we have some fairly unique characteristics here, I'd say that we would tend to be a mix in the cities and more like Alberta or B.C. in the country.

^^^ Well, if you can get those Star Trek freaks at SPACE the so called Imagination Station to invite Firefly folks to the Toronto Sci-Fi con... at least once... then you'd have that. Hell, you'd have had that this summer.
But something tells me... they never will.
Oh, I'm Canadian but East. Not West. And man, can I ever go the rest of my life and not end up in frickin' TO ever again.

Hopefully we will be seeing some Firefly guests at Toronto Trek or SFX in 2005. Keeping my fingers crossed anyways.
In the meantime, if you live in the Toronto or GTA area, we are planning some small shindigs (dinner/drinks)at a local restaurant.
