In Treatment, Season 1. Season 1 of this show is HUGE - 43 episodes, each around 45 minutes long. They are emotionally draining, and I can see why the actors signed on - each episode is basically Gabriel Byrne as the therapist, and one or two other actors as his patients. And they go at it. It must be an actor's wish come true, because it gives them plenty of opportunities to stretch out and push themselves.

# 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. Wife wanted to try this one, it was on sale for $10, so what the hey...

Eastbound and Down, Season 2. Just freaking hilarious. So wrong.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand. I'll miss Andy Whitfield. :(

Boardwalk Empire, Season 1. I've only seen the first episode, but it was enough to get me hooked, and I pre-ordered this one. Should be here tomorrow.

Breaking Bad, Season 3. It is such a ride, this show. Watching Walter become someone you won't even recognize from the first episode to the last, it is just incredible.

Hung, Season 2. It's silly, it's fluff, but it's still pretty funny.

Californication, Season 1. Never seen it, but I figured for $10 I'd check it out. I still have some fond memories of Duchovny from the X-Files days.

A great number of the shows I buy on DVD are HBO and Showtime series. It's been pointed out that it would be cheaper for me to just get HBO and Showtime, but I like to get really into the universes of the shows I'm watching, and waiting a week between eps takes me out of that world too quickly. And this way, I can re-watch them any time I want.

And of course I'll be buying American Horror Story when it comes out on DVD. I've already watched it, and it scared the living fuck out of me. I'm not sure I could do a marathon of that show, because it usually took me about a week to recover from the previous week's horrors!

All I can say is "Be careful." Seriously, the team behind the show has done their research, it seems. EVERYBODY has fear triggers, and they seem to have found them all. There are scenes where it feels like every hair on my body is standing on end, and I'm going "Oh no nono nonononono!" while my wife just looks at me quizzically and says, "What?. And then the very next scene, our reactions are reversed, and I'm wondering what she's freaking out about.

Apparently this show is messing people up, too. I know I couldn't watch it alone - as it is, we have to save it for Friday or Saturday night, because it's a given we're going to lose sleep and have nightmares. But it is one hell of a ride, I assure you.

Awesome. Behind sci-fi, horror is my favorite genre. I love to be scared, and now I really can't wait to see it. Scariest film I have ever seen: The Exorcist. If it is on par with that then I will be impressed.

Nothin weird about that. Beneath is great. I think I ranked it higher than the seires in another POTA list, but it's hard to qualify your favorites. The rest of your list is acurate to mine.

Streaming on your computer can be iffy depending on your bandwidth. I stream to my HDTV through a wireless router, and my signal is as good as anything I've seen on the set short of a Blu-Ray disc. I watched Green Lantern last night off CinemaNow and the picture quality was great (too bad the movie didn't measure up).

I'm sure that physical discs will be around for quite a few more years, but considering the expense for TV series and movies on Blu-Ray, I'd rather economize and wait for streaming. If it's something I want to see badly enough I can always pay a minimal fee through Amazon, CinemaNow or Vudu. Besides, I was running out of space to store the DVDs.

My DVD's don't depend on the width of the band, so chubby rockers aren't in the equation.

Well, I just recently picked up Veronica Mars Season 1 at Amoeba for $9.99

Now, even though folks I respect & admire, like our beloved Joss, had always called it the "Best. Show. Ever." I was kinda put off by this one fan trailer on YouTube that somebody had made for ComiCon a few years back, 'cause a) it made the show look like some'n that would air on Nickelodeon, or as an Afterschool Special, and b) Kristen Bell didn't seem all that talented (or maybe it was her beady eyes?).

Well, this past year I got hooked on Craig Ferguson, and totally changed my opinion on Kristen from her frequent appearances. Also, VM's creator was Rob Thomas, who also spawned Jeremy Piven's Cupid (1998), which I happen to think is the Best. Show. Ever.

I blew through all 22 episodes in 3 days, now head-over-heels addicted.

I'm with you on this one. Streaming media currently isn't up to the task it sets out to achieve. The footage is blocky, blurry and even with reasonably decent hardware you still get buffering problems. I've read a lot of comments saying that SD streaming is comparable to VHS or a poor satellite transmission. HD sreaming does usually get considered as better than DVD but it should do, it's HD. It still can't compare to Blu-ray though which is where the comparison should be aimed. Can HD streaming deal with Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD sound at a decent quality?
The companies make false claims that you can watch anything/anytime but that depends on what they currently have listed, which is a limited range, and titles don't stay listed indefinitely.

With physical media I can literally watch anything I have when I want. No buffering problems, quality is dependant only on whether it's DVD or Blu-ray, excellent sound. If I don't have it I can go out and buy it (or have it delivered next day if bought online). I don't have to wait for the company to list it.

I'm sure someday the technology will be improved enough that streaming media will be worth it and it will accomplish what it states it can do now. It's just got a way to go yet.

Anywho, back on topic -

Big Bang Theory: I'm currently catching up with this show and I'm a couple of episodes from the end of season 4.

Robin Of Sherwood: Got the Blu-rays of seasons 1+2 for Xmas. Excellent show.

Star Trek TOS: Rewatching the remastered versions with the CGI shots because a mate hadn't seen them.

Game Of Thrones: Looking forward to this being released and watching it again before the new season starts.
