The Tam Estate and Nandy's, "Heart of Gold", whorehouse
are the two "lost" locations I'd like to find the most.

Oh, yes. Shingles for sure. I envy anyone the opportunity to drive around Pasadena, though not in such cold as we've experienced there on New Year's mornings. April might be nice. :;-)

ETA: I think you'll need professional help or great good luck finding the HoG house. There are countless isolated places like that out in the SoCal desert, not too far away for location shooting.

It's actually pretty warm right now. I've been wearing sundresses all week -- wouldn't be surprised if winter was officially over for the Southland!

Regarding the Heart of Gold house -- it's odd for there to be a house so isolated in the desert. It reminds me of some places I've seen in Joshua Tree, although definitely more far-removed from civilization than homes out there tend to be.

Far too soon for it to be over. I remember it raining every dratted weekend for two months when I was in 6th grade. Sandbags everywhere. Was Jan/Feb.
The trips to Pasadena were cold, absolutely, if it was for Rose Parade. No global warming. No sundresses.
In Summer it was sometimes breathtakingly hot.

That HoG house looks as if it was meant to be the farmhouse for a homestead or something, when you look at the surroundings. The high desert had a number of those, long ago. Hope we find it!

The HoG house was reported to be out by Lancaster, California.
It was also supposed to have a dirt airstrip on the property.
I spent a few hours looking through Google Earth satellite views
trying to spot the combination of house layout, out-buildings and airstrip,
but to no avail.
But at least it is possible to do from afar,
unlike the search for the Tam Estate which must be conducted on the ground with eyes
to spot the specific architectural details.
It will only be possible to acquire a Google Earth satellite image after an address is located.

Airstrip, eh? That's a good hint. Good thought looking on Google Earth -- might be worth another shot, as they update images a little more frequently now. I'm going to check it out right now...
