The truth is that I bleed brown and have since I saw the show when it first aired. At the time I got into huge arguments with my father about which was better, Firefly or the various incarnations of Star Trek that were on the air at the time. The circumstances that led to the cancellation soured me on reality TV altogether as it caused the death of my beloved show. Like the rest of you, I have ridden the emotional highs and lows of each speculated return.

I have been a huge fan of this site for years although you would never register my presence as I am not generally active on message boards. I come here for Firefly related news and the wealth of wonderful fanfiction that sustains my need for Firefly!

I see some people on this thread mentioning waning interest in the show and I have to say I disagree. I think the interest is changing but never waning. For example, I introduced several of my younger friends to Firefly by inviting them to my house for a screening of the DVD set. They all loved it. In fact six of the eight people bought the series before the week was out and everyone was incredulous when I explained that Fox cancelled the series. We have since gotten into the Firefly RPG and have Firefly parties (Yes there is sometimes LARP). The interesting thing is that more people keep showning up!

Firefly is just the perfect combination of great storytelling, character development, and imaginative settings. It resonates with people and I believe the fan base will continue to grow until it literally becomes a classic. I guess the point of this rambling post is that it may not be apparent how many fireflyfans there really are out there.

I know we would be Netflix subscribers if they had Firefly!

I agree, I think there's no waning. And I even think there might be some people in showbiz who'd like to see it on the air - I've seen a lot of references on popular shows about how good Firefly was and how it was tragically canceled.

I think it's more a matter of finding the right battle before we commit any resources. Soon as Joss moves, I think all of us will move to back him.

Hahaha, I guess some things didn't change. Although there's strawberries missing.
