Neflix to bring back Firefly

I've thought that as well, but I also get the feeling there's tons of people who got bored of actively waiting, but keep it in the back of their minds. I still think something will pop, and right when we least expect it....

Yeah, you're probably right. I mean, I myself haven't been on FFF for 2 years now and just came back because of the netflick thing.
It's kinda like falling in love with an ex-girlfriend again every time you happen to see her, despite knowing that there's almost zero chance of getting back together again. I love Serenity, and she left me, and keeps teasing me in cruel ways like this.
People who've been here a while know what I mean.
But hey, all it took to get me back here ready to kick some ass was hearing about yet another almost impossible chance to bring back Firefly. There's loads more sleeping Browncoats like me. Just not as pretty.

I'm still pissed at Netflix for taking over and making it so the video stores in my neighborhood went out of business. Now if I want to go to the video store, something I like doing, we have to go to another quadrant of my city which is plain unfair. So I have a love hate relationship with Netflix, the hate part explained above and the love part being that it is pretty cool getting movies in the mail.
We'll see what happens. I'm hoping for a spinoff with all new charactors in the verse.

I think Byte's comment that people in the industry already know about Firefly goes to the heart of it. They know about Firefly, they know about Browncoats, they know about the costs, they know it was cancelled (for various reasons, most bad) and they know the movie did not do so well. And that I'm afraid was all on the movie - whether it was your favorite eva, it did not sell and if you're Netflix I think that makes it too risky.

That's too bad. I would've liked to see a version of Firefly where he had all the control over it, since the cancellation was such a heartbreaker.
Unfortunetly, that's not likely to ever happen. Be it Fox or Universal - some studio entity is going to be holding the reins.

While I have no doubt interest is at a low ebb, message boards are kinda dying in general, as social media like Facebook and Twitter take prominence. Im a member of several boards, and they've all become graveyards - but I see many of those peeps on Facebook all the time.
Matter of fact, FB community pages for Browncoats seem pretty active.

You're right. Facebook, and Twitter are killing message boards. Hometheaterforum.com at one time had 22,000 active members. I think now it's just under 2,000 people, and of those only a fraction of them post anything. Oh well, maybe there will be a resurgence of message boards if Facebook ever becomes old....doubtful though.

It's pretty sad about message boards if true, because it's always seemed to me like twitter and facebook might be fads. I mean, first there was Friendster then Myspace and now people have jumped to the new thing. But there's been bulletin boards and such even before there was a world-wide-web.

Well old or not, I'm sticking with message boards because I can use them without too much confusion and trouble, Facebook and Twitter are too confusing for me. I'm stickin with this.
