Neflix to bring back Firefly

In my industry, a 4% drop in sales is considered regrettable and a cause to take corrective action.
In their industry, which relies on growth to outpace competitors and capture the market, it could be even more disastrous.

But it was also a drop they completely expected, and was more than made up for by the price increase. That drop came packaged with a revenue boost.
Their stock dropped a fair bit, and that Im sure is troublesome to them - but subscriber-wise, they are doing fine. And the stock price is already turning around.
However, if we want a selling point - instantwatcher.com tracks and posts which streaming shows/movies are trending highest on a day-to-day basis, and Firefly has been in their top 50 pretty much the whole time.

Thing is, don't most production companies KNOW about Firefly already? I mean, it isn't even like they said they were thinking about it, someone just speculated something on the internet. Seems like email bombarding them about something they already know about but haven't showed any interest in themselves is a good way to piss them off.
I think the only way this is going to happen is if Joss or another member of the crew steps up, says "let's make this happen," and then initiates some talks about it. I'm going to hold on to my emails until then.

Maybe it would piss them off, but really - so what? They're not going to make it more cancelled.
And while Netflix existed back then, theyve only started commissioning shows in the last couple months. The game is changing - that's the whole point.

Maybe. But it might make them less likely to consider reviving it.
Wasn't Joss talking about maybe putting together some scratch for his own indy studio? And wasn't he experimenting with the viability of webisode DVD sales?
And aren't we getting ahead of ourselves anyway when The Avengers hasn't come out yet?

That company already exists - thus his new Much Ado adaptation, and the romance film he's written. But he's also siad its for making ultra low-budget stuff. That aint Firefly.

E-mailing them even at this stage shows them that there's loads of people out there who care and are willing to spend money on anything Firefly.
But yeah, Firefly would be a bit more expensive than a sitcom or whatever. Let's show them it's worth it.
Sucks that I can't even watch Netflix here in Germany, though.

Sending snail mail - maybe. But emails are virtually worthless. That's been the case for over a decade - anyone can end one with virtually no effort, and are generally ignored.

6 years ago we might have been able to make a staggering impression with an e-mail campaign. Firefly was at a fever pitch, and Netflix would be practically overrun with requests(if that option presented itself back then). Unfortunately I think now an e-mail campaign from a few hundred people would do more harm than good.
Fireflyfans.net is the place for us fans, and I'm sad to say this place is slowly turning into a graveyard. Traffic is at an all time low. I don't know what that says about Firefly, but my guess is that 10 years after the series people are finally starting to lose interest. The greatest show ever created is now as under the radar as it was first run on Fox.

That's too bad. I would've liked to see a version of Firefly where he had all the control over it, since the cancellation was such a heartbreaker.
Good point about email versus snail mail.
