Netflix raising the dead...

Hi all. I've been on this site a lot, but never registered and posted before. However, I read about something today that made me think I should. This story is a few days old, so I apologize if this was mentioned already.

So, it turns out Netflix is bringing back the cancelled series "Arrested Development." According to the article below from the NY Times on 11/20/11, it is not a rumor.

For those of you who are not familiar with this show, it is (yet another) brilliant television series that Fox cancelled (sound familiar?). I have not done formal research on this, but from what I know Arrested Development, like Firefly, has a huge following that has only grown since it was taken off the air. It is probably safe to argue that this die-hard, cult following is the reason it is being resurrected by Netflix (who has data as to how often it rented and watched in their streaming section).

I'm sure most of you can guess where I'm going with this…

Any thoughts?

Had the same thoughts myself, that this could lead to more Firefly. And who knows - maybe it could. But Arrested Development, cancellation aside, always got better ratings (they did get 3 seasons, after all) and was way, way cheaper to make. And even with this resurrection, it's not really going to be the same show - the full cast will apparently not be together for any episode - each new episode featuring only one (maybe two) cast members.

No bad way to spin that news. First good thing netflix has done in awhile.

Glad you could make it to the fight! No idea's a bad one, but yep, we've eyeballed Netflix. I think most of us are in a hurry-up-and-wait-for-Castle-to-end mode...

I'm angry at NetFlix because they don't have a hard copy of Hercules and the Amazon Women, my dad saw it online the other day for ordering and I wanted it but we couldn't get it because we can only do rent by mail. Those rutters, I want that one in the mail. Mean people.

That's been out of print for years. Im sure they had it when it was newer, but disks get damaged, lost, or stolen. When that happens, if they're no longer in print, that's it. They're gone.

That one in particular seems hard to find. Amazon is selling their few remaining new copies for almost $50.
