Why? Why? Why? For the love of god, why do I pay taxes?

A group supporting natural breasts has staged a street protest in Hollywood against a U.S. military policy offering free breast implants to female soldiers.

What really surprises me Tash, is that YOU are the one complaining about this.

I heard about this a little while back and they actually allow for a variety of cosmetic surgery for men and women who serve, calling it an enlistment incentive. I don't have a problem with the idea.

Hey, what about sexual reasignement for homosexuals so they don't have to hide their sexual preferences anymore?

They prolly did a study that showed that people seeking cosmetic surgery have a psychological profile conducive to recruitment: low self-esteem, an obsession with external validation, a useful tendency toward secretiveness.

And what's up with that "so army doctors can practice" stuff. Yeah, I want someone to "practice" disfiguring my body. In the future, when we see someone with a really bad nose job, will we be thinking, "Poor guy, musta got it in the army?"

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

They got reconstructive surgeons sitting around with nothing in their specialty to do. This is providing them with practice so that if you get a shrapnel scratch on your butt they can fix it smooth as a baby's.

Read on. They're kevlar breast implants, and are classified as light, subdermal body armour.

Seriously though, while I like breasts (a lot), natural is nicer and I wonder if this is some way to increase the number of female joinees (albeit, ones who have body image issues). Or could it be a new secret tactic by the American military to start fielding buxom amazon women who kill their enemies during that brief instant that the enemy soldier is wondering if what they're looking at is real or not. Will the silliness ever stop?

Does Blue Sun sponser the Blue Man Group?

[bitter, angry, jaded tone of voice] I spent a year and a half in Afghanistan, and I can tell you, there's plenty of REAL scars being made over there to keep cosmetic surgeons busy for ten lifetimes. Not to mention Iraq. [/bitter, angry, jaded tone of voice]

I do realize, Geezer, that you were trying to be humorsome and light, and I don't direct my venom at you. . .but rather at the Army.

Perhaps the boob jobs are really for the morale of the men? Y'know, serving in the military and such can bring a guy down, but jiggly breasts are sure to boost spirits.

Although I agree with Static...I can think of a bazillion other better ways to spend money for the hardworking men and women serving. Duh.

Now. . .I'm sure they make jumping jacks a much more pleasant sight.

Speaking as an actual Amazon (a woman with one breast) I think you have to have serious issues of all sorts to want that stuff inside your body. In the breast-cancer-reconstruction-world I've heard more horror stories than happy stories by a factor of several fold.

I'd rather go one-sided than risk those types of complications.
