Comic book artist extraordinaire and 2004 Eisner Award Nominee for Best Cover Artiste, Joshua Middleton (NYX, X-Men Unlimited, New Mutant, Sky Between) is currently working on Joss Whedon's 'Serenity.'

Work exchange program perhaps?

middleton does awesome covers. i have some ones he did for new mutants. joss should write a firefly comic under image.

Does this mean he's doing a comic adaption of joss whedons serenity? or does it mean he is workin on the actual movie, storyboarding it or somthin. I don't understand.

I assume he must be storyboarding.

A comic adaptation of the movie would be great though.

Graphic novels would be good things, he could be working on some of the promotional stuff too, not sure that they'd bring in a professional comics guy just to do storyboards, but anything's possible I guess.

Hmm, if it isn't storyboarding or a comic book adaption, could it be conceptual artwork that he's working on?

With all the great CGI effects availible out there, I bet Serenity will be great! :no,wait,abigDAMNgrin!:

Anyone know what Middleton is doing on Serenity? I *just* found this post and I'm soooo excited. Middleton is by FAR my favorite comic artist. His work is just beautiful. :D

Don't know, but when I first heard this story, my thought was, "Oh, he's going to be storyboarding the movie? Guess that means we can look forward to some panty shots of Kaylee, River, and Inara.." Not that'd necessarily be a bad thing. ;)

Though he is a very nice artist, was sorry to see him leave NYX (and how the series as a whole is ending)

NYX is my newest comic addiction. I was crushed when I found out he was leaving NYX. It just won't be the same without him. I hope that the new artist keeps the same feel to the art work.

Quesada said at WizardWorld Chicago that he just finished writing #5-7(could have been 5-6, but I think it is through 7).

I got Middleton to sign my NYY #3 and #1. He was really nice(and hot too :) ) and I'm excited to have my comics signed. :D
