Rooney was another of "The Greatest Generation", one of those who was actually there at the liberation of the concentration camps. He was a pacifist when the war began, and freely admitted that what he saw in those camps thoroughly convinced him that he had been wrong in opposing U.S. involvement in the war.

Is anyone really surprised to hear a right-winger slag such a person?

Didn't agree w/ the guy that much , though he had a heart of a lion.

92.. that's nothing to sneeze at. He lived a full life.

Lost someone I knew this week. At the age of 42. She leaves behind a good man and a beautiful child. That was a life cut short.

Been a tough week.

I'm not sure where Wazit's resentment of Andy Rooney is coming from, he's probably just jealous because no one cares when he complains while people listened to Andy Rooney's complaints every week. I understand being a little jealous of someone who gets paid big bucks to do something you think you're good at, but your jealousy is way out of control/over the top and you're sentiments on the matter are hard to relate to because its a bummer when people die even when they aren't your favorite person.

AU I'm sorry about your friend's passing, that's tough stuff. And I know what you mean about that generation, every day we lose more of them and soon we won't have any left and that will be sad indeed. I think people have had similar feelings about their older generations who experienced significant things for time imemorium.

Damn!!!! I should get paid for doing monologues. I can make em witty or topical or whatever...actually I'm surprised I haven't been spruiked for a career in Television or motivational speaking I could make squillions and retire before I'm 50!!!! Dreams dreams....or I could look into it. Imagine the bi-lines: "Middle aged Woman with multiple "neurodiverse" conditions has had a functional and rich life despite the oh too obvious barriers thrown her way by the less intellectually developed you too could have the life you deserve etc etc etc"... ahhh sweet cyniscism. We could all be rich if we hit that path don't ya think?
