I like the music, and a lot of the lyrics, but it's basically not totally about Superman IMO.

Firstly, let me thank you for reminding me of a song that I really like but for some reason haven't thought of in years. I think your modest revisions work well to make this ditty more Superman-specific, but a couple of (perhaps stupid) questions: Who exactly is Supes singing to? Humanity at large? Lois? Jimmy? Is he contemplating killing himself outright, or just his powers? And is there supposed to be a sort of "Checkers speech" you-won't-have-me- to-kick-around-anymore tone to the song?

I was aiming at his singing to Lois after the world changed enough for him not to be quite so needed. See, she's aging, and he not so much. Gold Kryptonite would remove his powers & make him human, but would she love him as 'Superman' anymore after...?
