So I'm walking around the Tower Records store in downtown Glendale, CA, when I come to the TV DVD section. I go through the DVD's I want, like Black Adder and Red Dwarf, but when I come to the F section...all I see is frigging Frasier, Friends, and Felicity. There wasn't ONE frigging Firefly DVD set. I was mad, so I went to the clerk to ask 'em if they had any. I was told that they were sold out, and that more were on order. I felt better. Life is good. Keep buying those DVD's people, and keep getting your friends to buy 'em too. ;)

It was very sad
I was in Media Play yesterday and they only had one copy of Firefly, it was stuffed in a corner so I put it in front so it was on display.
I didn't ask but I hope they had more on order.
I still need to buy a second copy so I can lend it out without depriving myself of the splender that is Firefly.

At Best Buy there were 5 or 6. Some had a sticker proclaiming the unaired episodes, some didn't. I put the sticker ones in front, covering up a few other shows.

Firefly was relesed in Australia (Perth) on the 5th Aug. In Perth the discount stores I looked into were out of stock by the weekend. The speciality vidio stores, e.g. JB, Jaguar, were out or down to there last copy. Both reported heavy demand. However with no publicity I think they only had limited stock to start with.

It is great to hear that after eight months on the market stores are still selling out of the DVD set. I know that I check every store that I go into for the DVD set. If I don't see it on the shelf I will ask about it to see if they are simply out and have more on order. If they do not carry it, I will talk to a manager or supervisor telling them what a great seller it is & point them to Amazon.com to see the reviews.
I of course make sure that Firefly is highly visible on the shelves when I find them, moving them, facing them out, you name it. I am only too happy to recommend the set to anyone I see wandering through the Sci Fi section. I have had several people actually take it to the counter to purchase. This of course has gotten me a couple of job offers from some stores, but I respectfully decline, telling them I am the "unoffical" Firefly spokesperson.

I did the same thing at the Best Buy near me. They only had 2 copies and they were buried, so I put them both face-out on the shelf above and below where they were supposed to be. I felt so sneaky!!!!
