2nd jury duty for the year down. "Hi. Fill out this form. All the trials settled. Get out."

You know you could have just called so I didn't have to drive all the way downtown and back and pay $10 for parking.

And I only get $6 for jury duty as it is. Lame!

HUGS Zeek ... they never let me do jury duty either.
BTW if you ever want not to be on one... mention you have a masters in criminal psychology. Both counsel will nearly injure themselves attempting to excuse you quickly and get you out before you can taint the jury with facts.

I had jury duty earlier this month, as did my mom and someone else I know. I wasn't chosen, got excused after the juries for the day were chosen. They like to summon me a lot, hopefully this will keep them busy for a while since they can't call me for two years now.

I got that two years line too. Then when I got this summons they said if I didn't serve on a jury at a trial that it didn't count. So, I still had to go this time. I assume I'm right back in the lottery again since I wasn't selected for a trial this time either. So annoying.

Well no because I don't want to waste the time sitting on a jury. If I had to be on some sort of trial though then I would want to be on a murder trial or something serious. I feel like I'd be pretty good at coming to a logical conclusion instead of an emotional one. Plus I'm stubborn as hell. So, it's my decision or a hung jury.

I honestly don't understand why they're allowed to do jury selection. Shouldn't a jury of your peers be totally random?

Well the theory is they have to root out ringers and people who are predisposed to agree or disagree with specific arguments. Often it'll be things like making sure a neo-nazi isn't on the jury where a black or jewish person is on trial.
