Some ideas for Haken

Really appreciate all you have done for us.

Had a couple of suggestions floating around hope that's ok:

1) How about a 'how to use the site' section for all us techno idiots.

2) Is there some way of marking the cast and crews mail so we know it's really them. I do think that was from Jewel, but I know and can understand that some people are suspicious of the thread. It would be awful to find we are being tricked.

Haken's a pretty darn busy guy. Maybe one of the online helpers can do something like this.

Well, people have already tricked each other on this board before. No telling when it would/wouldn't happen again.

Haken, you have the top Firefly site. In your list of top sites:

Yea, it's so tricky with that sort of thing- not even Haken knows for sure if it is them. Although, I think Haken has had some correspondance with Jewel Staite, or her publicist, before...so I guess it's not entirely suprising if she posted here. I haven't seen the thread in question, so i can't really comment more.

I remember when Joss(i think, it's been a while) and Tim M posted here, it took us a few days to really believe it was them, because there is just no way to know.

As for a how to use, well, i'm pretty familar with most aspects of this site, cept for the newer sections, so i'm sure if a few of us got together and wrote a FAQ for Haken, he would put it up for us.

It is always a good idea to check the date of the first post on a thread. I posted this thread back on 22nd June, some people at the OB were confused by this site (theirs is very different) and Jewel had left her first post, but people were not sure as too whether it was her.

Since that date, Jewel has left more messages, so I think most people trust that it is her.

lol, yea i knew how old it was...but i haven't been here in a while, I still haven't gotten a chance to really explore the rest of the site. and i never really was in the habit of 'reading all messages' first hehe. if i see something that looked unresolved...i posted.

that is so cool that she posts here! i always get spun out about that.

It would be fairly easy for the cast/crew to confirm it themselves. As an example, Jewel posts a message and includes a special word or phrase. Then Adam, or Chris Buchanan post over on the OB (where their logins are confirmed) with the same word or phrase.

Just a thought.
