So the response amongst my fellow gunbloggers has been rather positive to this idea, so I thought I would take it to the Browncoats.
What would you be willing to pay to have a fully-functional, actual-ammunition-firing, semi-automatic, magazine-fed rendition of Mal's sidearm?

My local gunsmith/store/range has considered the project in the past, and is considering being talked into working on it again, but having some kind of feel as to the interest level would help tremendously. Thanks :).

That would be really cool. Though one couldn't take it to conventions or anything, well I guess they could if they conceal carried it, but they probably couldn't show it off. I imagine more people would be interested in repleccas, but I think you'd get some takers on the real thing.

I know conventions allow you to peace-tie "live" swords and knives - I assume the same is not true for unloaded-and-safed firearms?

Would not such an item be in danger of attracting the wrath of the Fox / Universal licensing departments? (assuming they made more than a few of them)

I imagine they might have something to say about it, but the folks I am working with would also probably be willing to do what it took to get it licensed...
I wonder if anyone has ever tried before?
