On this day in history, Aug 22, 2005, Serenity premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
I have pictures of Summer Glau from the premiere and a video from Aug 2011 of her leaving the London Hotel in West Hollywood. In both years, Summer was wearing the same flower print dress, but she is different; she has become a smoother, more poised celebrity with the passage of time.
In Edinburgh, the photographer was Darin (Zol) Fryatt www.fireflyfans.net/showprofile.asp?un=Zol . I can't point you to the originals photos at http://serenity.fotopic.net because www.fotopic.net has gone bye-bye.
The photos are in order of their time-stamps. I don't know what Summer was reacting to. Perhaps the fresh flowers? This was an occasion when audio-video would be very informative.

Quote:Cars are status symbols. Isn't California the state where you are what you drive? And Summer was driving an itty-bitty dark red Mini Cooper named Luca in 2005. - www.whedon.info/summer-glau-about-her-career.html

Then she got slightly more daring with a silver Mini convertible. She's blossoming. She can feel the breeze. http://hollywoodstatus.com/2010/03/summer-galu-from-dollhouse-at-a-gas

And then she buys the Muscle Car with a T-Top, her hair blowing, and she is moving faster than a jet-fighter at takeoff. She's different person now than she was in 2005 when Serenity premiered.

So much for my absurd theory that a cool car in California can completely change your personality. The theory works only for people like me because I am shallow. Summer is looking nervous in a muscle car. There are several more pictures at:

You'd look nervous too if paparazzi followed you everywhere.

Exactly what I was going to say, it's not the car, it's the creepy dude at the end of it taking her picture...

Paparazzi are bad enough, but you never know when it could be a creepy, disturbed stalker.

Yes. Thank you both. He was probably creepy looking with a mustache and man jewelry.
