PN's crassness and psychology aside (which not even I dare to delve into- though I think you are probably pretty close to the mark 
) He IS partially correct...for some people.
When I got married I had all these expectations about equal divisions of labor that didn't really work -for US. When I had my daughter and decided to stay home I made a conscious decision that I could make this hard or I could make this nice...It certainly does make me happier when he is calm and trying to be nice and pleasing than it does when I try to squeeze him into a more modern mold AND HE SPENDS ALL HIS TIME FIGHTING IT!...though I will say neither one of us have any illusions of ANYBODY worshipping ANYBODY... He's good at working a job I would've quit long ago and I'm good at a job he wouldn't have made through the first month!
It doesn't hurt that both of us thoroughly enjoy a good romp to diffuse tensions...but from what I hear not EVERYBODY likes sex, heh...

I've read her book -- very intelligently written -- which is also a class by women for women. Written in 1963, a modern day version would include a lot more emphasis on sex details, rather than implied imagination, but it would still be the same book. A happy marriage means both spouses are HAPPY every day, and this book tells you how to actually achieve that.
For the religious parts you can substitute any religion, and she often admires Hindu marriages with multiple wives, like the woman who motivated the Taj Mahal while practically running India herself behind the scenes. I really liked the multiple wives part [dodgin flyin object].
I agree with her thesis that its a myth that men and women are "equals". Men are better at work (a literal battlefield sometimes to the death), women are better at being mommies (men have no tits nor wombs). As she says, behind every "successful" man is smart sexy woman.
I made the mistake of believing this myth by supporting my wife's "equal rights" lawsuit against the world's largest food service corporation. Defense lawyers were ex fed prosecutors who worked with the ex-prosecutor judge. Cost her management career and now blacklisted by every corporation's human resource dept due to lifetime court records online. Winning a $250,000 settlement required paying her jew lawyers $170,000. She's now lost over $1-million in pay as a result of their advice.
I shoulda just told her to get a new job, put up with her drunk boss walking around with his dork hanging out, or quit and be a housewife. My mistake.
Your ladies out there ought to buy this book. It covers how to properly debrief your husband after work, and manage his career without sabotaging it (which puts more money in your pocketbook = payment for your housewhorin).
