Something I hadn't noticed before -- Joss and Nathan and the gang like to talk about how Firefly isn't like Star Trek in that it's not clean and stately and food doesn't appear when you push a button, and doors don't open and close automatically with a 'hiss', etc. However, I was just re-watching Jaynestown and I noticed as Inara is trying to get Boss Higgins to leave her alone with his son Fess, the door appears to slide open and closed without anyone pressing any buttons, much less manually turning an airlock wheel or pulling on a handle. I never paid much attention to this before but IIRC in OMR the doors to the shuttles had to be pulled open/shut. I suppose it's possible there are multiple doors (one on Serenity and one on the shuttle) that are connected via some kind of airlock seal...has anyone else noticed how the doors on either of the shuttles operate from inside?
Jayne, your mouth is talkin. Might want to look into that.

I'll take more notice of this the next time I'm watching FireFly. AGAIN.
One explanation COULD be that Inara services some very elite clientele in her shuttle, so it's possible it might be "upgraded" compared to Serenity.
I'll be in my bunk........
