The sweetest and prettiest explanation for Summer Glau taking the "Gwen" role is that she wanted to be a Sigourney -- actress becomes actual spacewoman warrior she pretended to be on TV. Or in Summer's case, LARPer becomes actual demon-slaying warrior woman. Being Sigourney fulfilled a secret Summer fantasy.
Keeping the costume can't be the reason Summer did the movie. Imagine going to the grocery store and gas station in it.

I wholeheartedly disagree with that. I think Hollywood has long since been dragged into the muck because of people going to the theater for and actor or actress rather than the overall quality of a film. Slap one big name star on a piece of trash and you're guaranteed X number of dollars. IMO that's exactly the wrong way to go about voting with your dollars. I'd rather send the message that Hollywood has to produce an all around quality film if they want any of my money.
But if we don't go and see it, Summer wont get paid, and if the movie isn't successful, there is less chance of her getting another role.
