No, I haven't posted on the OB at all, Whedonesque... if you want to spread the word over there, feel free. The only thing I ask is this: Would you mention that it'd be helpful, for anyone who wants to go, to add their names to the official Meetup.com site? That will make it easier for me to keep track of everyone, rather than having to keep tabs on three boards.

Des, what board are you from? And y'know, I signed up at the OB, but I find it a bit too monstrous and not organized enough to my liking. But then again, I found FFF.net first (alliteration!) so I think I'm biased.

If I'm from any board, I guess it's the one that Universal recently established to promote the feature. I don't really have all the nomenclature down yet -- I suppose you'd call it the SB (Serenity Board) or OSB (Official Serenity Board). I never made more than a couple of posts on its bulletin board system.

A meet-up in NYC sounds great! I've been a closet Joss fan since Buffy but never had anyone in my stuffy corporate office group who watched it.
Is this primarily a singles group or can middle-aged married ladies join too?

Hi all. I just returned home and to my computer access and wanted to add my enthusiasm for the Firefly meetup. I was only in New York on vacation, so I can't attend any of the others.
I was the first person to get to the restaurant and was worried that I wouldn't recognize any other participants besides QT. Fortunately Clandestiny arrived next, in a Blue Sun T-shirt, so that was a no-brainer. Afterwards he was indeed adept at spotting other fans.

DietC, I don't think MeetUp is for singles only...it's just a web-based way to gather all of us crazies in order to get together. C'mon, join in on the fun. And make sure you sign up at MeetUp (page up on this thread to find the link) so you can keep up-to-date on all the info! Welcome welcome!
