I wonder how many Jedi became corrupted while filling the role of Generals in the clone wars. If order 66 hadn't wiped most of the out, I wouldn't be surprised if the clone wars would have eventually created an army of dark jedi. Of course, an army of dark jedi would not be in Palpatine's interest, it would dilute the dark side's power.

If he followed Darth Bane's philosophy, he believed there should be only two Sith, one to have the power, and another to covet it. The apprentice learns from the master until they are powerful enough to strike them down and become the master themselves. Meanwhile, the master is made all the more powerful from maintaining their guard at all times on account of their apprentice. That's the theory anyway.

Along those lines, I think had Mace killed Palpetine in ROTS, he would have gone ahead and seized power.

I have personal beef with Karyen Traviss. I like the fact that she expanded on the Mando'ae, but she's taking them TOO far. Plus the fact that she killed off Mara, that is solely a decision that should've been made by Timothy Zahn, and written by him, not a punk upstart like Traviss. Without Zahn, without the thrawn trilogy, without MARA JADE, the books would never be this far, numerous, or popular. And, without those three books, there's a good chance there might never have been a new trilogy. Hate Jar jar all you want, remember, jar jar wasnt meant for the older generations, but the newer ones. Just like the new series while following the original's backstory, was also geared for a slightlym different audience.
