Somehow, I missed this one. Is this a prequel, to the current XMen stories, or a complete reboot ?

its a prequel. its about the first class of Charles Xaviers school for gifted children. sorta like an origins, but for serveral of the characters at once.

Yep, seemed like that from the trailer. I'm really out of the loop here though... I guess my question is...

Are we caring about this ?

I'm inclined to think so, but lack of info leaves me a bit suspicious here. Any fan boy type info would be helpful.

Since all the other X-Men flicks did not suck I am going to care about this

I'm not caring about First Class. It sounds like it pretty much departs from the comics and might as well be an alternate universe. No Scott, Gene, Bobby or Warren in the "first class"? Oh but at least they brought in Scott's brother...wait no he's not going to be his brother cause who cares about continuity, right? Apparently Xavier is a young horny version of himself. The whole thing just sounds ridiculous.

I'll wait for them to sell the rights to X-men over to Marvel studios. They seem to be the only ones who can do Marvel comics any justice.

I'm caring about this! As long as it has Professor X in it I care about this, he's my favorite one in X Men movies, him and Magnito, so I'll eagerly watch.

Agreed. This "first class" is NOT the first X-Men and seems a mix of several generations of teams and is totally out of continuity.

mm well at least they finally bothered to introduce Pixie. she is one of the 'lesser' Xmen, but is still a great character. if we're very, very lucky, we might even get more than a walk through of Jubilee, but I doubt it.
