I agree that having the author name next to a post could be helpful, I think that is in the works from what I've heard.

I just thought I'd try asking him to stop. whether he listens is another matter but I think asking him can't do any harm. He's in charge of what he posts so hopefully he will listen and try to keep his posts in RWED where we're all prepared for them a little more.

Of course, even if that happens, PN will still just post his usual book-length lists of links in everybody else's threads.

But yeah, it's a good idea anyway. Short of banning PN, though, you're not likely to get rid of all his idiocy. And I'm really not a fan of the ban.

ETA: Oh, hell - I should have read ALL of your post before replying... You already brought up the idea of PN dropping his BS into everyone else's posts! And yes, he would, because yes, he DOES.

Still not a fan of the ban-hammer, though. But if he continues knowingly posting malware and virus links, he could be limited to posting text-only messages, without links or pictures. PN seems like that kid on just about every board, who has to push the boundaries and try to find exactly WHERE the lines are, and has to cross them a time or seventy before he gets the idea. Or who posts something, gets it taken down, and responds by posting hardcore porn instead, at which time the ban comes down.

If you use the new beta site you will notice that the name of the thread creator is placed right were you guys saying it should be. and it has been this way for a couple of months when it was asked for. I think the pictures that he posts to the actual site is the worst part about it. i have extreme hate for this picture right here http://beta.fireflyfans.net/bluesun.aspx?bid=23398
