Just saw it, and I really liked it. The imagery was very impressive. I hear that a lot in movies, and so often it doesn't impress me. Avatar comes to mind.
As for where the movie left off, Loki said there were secret ways to get in an out of Asgard, so I'm guessing it's only a matter of time until one if found, and one leading to Earth. Found by Thor, I mean.
Also, I did watch it in 3D. Not bad, but it made the screen all the more darker ( imo ) and much of the color seemed a bit washed out. I'd like to see it again, but in 2D next time.
And as for the part about Loki at the post credit scene... I got the impression that he was just 'looking in' on what Nick Fury and the Dr were talking about, and hadn't fully possessed him. But I guess that could left up for interpretation ?
Anyways, a decent flick. I recommend it.

My thoughts are that they don't need to show her. They may mention the character in relation to the bridging technology but Thor told Agent Coulson to call on him when needed. Once the bridge is reopened Coulson can do that and bring Thor back. But he'd only do it if it's needed, i.e. the world is in danger. Thor is a warrior and hero who would put the fate of the Earth first over hooking up with Jane. He wouldn't risk Earth just for a date. After the movie is over he'd go looking for her which, of course, would lead into Thor 2.

I thought with the way he said the line about how the cube was something interesting or whatever and then the doctor repeated the line sorta showed that Loki was in control.

Sounds like it grants wishes and generally grants the user all sorts of power.

I think if the world is on the verge of destruction, he'd probably put off looking up the girl for a couple days.

Well, that's kinda my point. He didn't so much take over and possess the Dr, as he sort of implanted the thought into his head. Loki basically Jedi mind tricked him, as it were. Least, that's the way I saw it. Tiny detail, I suppose.
