Would you write an article for FFF.NET for $5?

Just wondering, would you or a Browncoat you know write an original Firefly/Whedonverse article to be posted on FFF.NET for $5?

The reason I'm asking is that occasionally, we have a little fund leftover after the bills are paid for the site. Rather than banking it for the following month, what if we used that extra money to pay for original content for the site?

I know it's not a lot, but based on what I've read recently about content farms, etc., $5 is actually isn't all that bad.

With this month's donation about $50 over what I need, I can pay for 10 original articles.

What do you all think?

'Article' as in what? A critique of the show or movie? An original story?
A personal anecdote concerning swallowing a bug?
An analysis juxtaposed with today's geo-political climate?

Needing specificiousity here...

Not that this is something I could do, but what would the articles be? Reviews of eppisodes and characters and related media? Experiences with other Browncoats or shindigs? What the actors are doing now? Any and all of the above?...

Damn, gotta set my clock back 5 minutes to get ahead of Chris or I could just do that...

Anything Firefly related, which is actually quite broad. But basically the stuffs I normally select as news headlines for the site. Anything having to do with the people who were on Firefly and what they are working on at the moment. Fun stuff like 10 best scenes from Firefly or any of the recent Joss Whedon series or series that the actors are in, which basically covers Castle, V, etc..

Article on the fandom itself. Coverages of Firefly fandom at Cons. Interest pieces on the Browncoats themselves (we have a many interesting Browncoats!).

Anything no more than two degrees of separation from Firefly is probably a good criteria.

If you have experience being a copywriter, this is probably perfect for you.

I guess the goal is to have original content on the site so that instead of us linking to other sites all the time, we can maybe get them to link to us for a change. It'll raise our profile a bit and contributors to the site gets compensated for their work.

Like when I recast WKRP with the crew? Hrm. I bet there are lots of folks around here that could do that.

What's the procedure? Should people write, submit, and then wait for approval like a magazine? Will the mods be involved...are the mods still involved?

I'm just making this stuff up as I go, but I want to make the process somewhat community based. Maybe have a page somewhere on the site where members submit their ideas for an article, members then vote on the article they would like to read, X number of votes give you the okay to write it, when completed, a pass through an editorial board of some kind, they okay it, writer gets paid, article goes live.

It's probably harder than it sounds, but that's the general flow of it at the moment.

I'm up for that. I'm not fussed about the $5 though. Maybe you could just donate it to something or use it as my contribution to the site... But anyway I'll try my hand at writing some content.
I'll offer myself up for any article but I'm probably geared more towards script writing, or story telling.
I'm ok at writing reviews or critiques but It's not my strength...

Hope that helps.

I would happily write an article for $5. Can I write about www.stillflying.net? :)

I am a professional editor and writer.

noticed you have a volunteers section in the info page, I'd be happy to write an piece or two in exchange for a link to my firefly blog. that way, I get free advertising, and you get a free article. win win.

Newbie here. I too would be less interested in the money and more so in the exposure. However, I'm a short story writer.

I know you set some perimeters. I'm just wondering if you are looking for news articles only, or if anything FireFly related that might draw in readership will work?
