This thread deserves a lot more thought, but off the top of my head:
First, some surprise that no one has mentioned![]()
Also
Not to mention i like a woman who can defy gravity
Um, not what I meant

Imagine the possibilities
I see some fan artist already has
I also care for cluster lizard women
Goes without saying
Accelerated decrepitude aside
Updating hotlinks that people posted which have since failed

Some people who might come to mind
(Sorry, I promised myself no repeats, but some things were worth repeating, hell, they all were, but this one was topical.)

If that didn't load here's another

I just started watching "Legend of the Seeker" and discovered Jessica Marais portraying a Mord'Sith named Denna. Best episode so far. Will look forward to seeing the Seeker stumble upon the Mord'Sith again.

Just wait until Charisma Carpenter shows as another Mord'Sith in Season 2

Riverdancer,
Just point of clarification because the image didn't load, re: Milla Jovovich. Were you suggesting Leeloo or Alice?
Safron would steal my stuff. Willow would blow everyone up, but she would be able to do magic, which is way cool.

I have to gnaw this one over. The pluses and minus of actually dating Cameron Phillips would be fairly extreme. (Same goes for River Tam, but in a different way.)

Depends what kind of date this is.
Consider actually dating some of these girls. Cameron Phillips. River Tam. Buffy. Faith. 7 of 9, okay, she's undead, but I'd prefer her to Jeri Ryan. What a curious commentary, people would choose to date Illyria over Fred. Dating Saffron would be fun but expensive. Willow, trying, but interesting. Boomer? not as frelled as this: #6. ETA: [why not Cordelia Chase?] I see her mentioned as in an upcoming…
The most curious suggestion to me was Callisto. While, I agree, I'm not sure why. It's an odd choice. She's very appealing for some reason. And that makes her hot. She's not objectively hotter than the others. Xena is probably the objectively hottest girl, or Aphrodite, but Xena is also a piece of work… we've all been there. Superpowers do not balance that equation. I take Gabrielle over Xena, but I'd probably prefer Lucy Lawless.
Amy Pond is the only sensible suggestion so far. Stargate (Was Sam too human?) I actually concur with most of these, but they do fit a pattern: Kala from Flash Gordon. Yes, I agree. But all these movies have heroines, right? Girls aren't always bad… and yet…
Kaylee is another sensible choice. Mystique does have a certain… <-- I actually think Anthony wins this one.
Yvonne as Sarah from Chuck is like dating Lara Logan. I guess that says something for Lara, as close to a real bad girl as there is, and as hot as any of these. I think this survey may be unintentionally concluding that Lara Logan is the ideal woman.
Id-boy PN has found in his infinite research that Megan Fox technically qualifies as a sci-fi girl now, though I don't think there was any character input into this choice. Id is actually taking over, and that was my point. JSF has a list of some hot women, but some interesting characters, the thing is, it's not that these are the hottest girls, and I think that people are influenced by the characters, they're just not admitting it. They're backtracking to the actress a lot of the times, and then finding a sexier picture of the actress.
Natascha Henstridge is Sil? Now there's an interesting date. If it's a lapdance, I'll take Sil. I know she's motivated to procreate, and there's some alpha hero out there who will stop the apocalypse that my night of ecstasy will create, and so I can enjoy the evening, as long as I don't get my spine ripped out.
Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth Swann? And while I'm at it, Natalie Portman as what? Amidala?
Trance, another evil girl. Girls should clearly be evil. And definitely not human. Superpowers a plus, being mercilessly cruel, a must. Andromeda, another android, famous for inventing the world's shortest skirt. A skirt isn't there to cover anything, silly, it doesn't need to reach passed your waist. It's just there to show us that you're a girl. Actually, it does a much better job of that if it's this short ;)
Again, with Anita not Barbarella. No mention of Fonda herself, who, afterall, is many times over a traitor, to her fans, and, oh yeah, being an actual
Zev/Xev, and me nominating the whole cast of Farscape, almost. I didn't nominate Zhaan.
Women, hair, it's an asset. Lobby for hair. Accept the nude scene and the lesbian kiss and the alien mind control, but keep the hair. Also, argue against the prosthetics of those creature shop crowd.
Dr. Who companions, all of them. The girls anyway.
Here's the only picture I could find of Sadie Miller (Sladen) who plays Natalie Redfern on the audio series.

After watching the Flash Gordon serials with Priscilla Lawson as Princess Aura, when I was six years old, I find myself drawn to powerful women with that sinister look that shows up when they give that sideways glance at their victim. I'm not sure how much influence Priscilla Lawson had on me, but I found myself comparing her to Ornella Muti in th 1980 film and Ms. Lawson continued to get my vote.
Now if I had seen Gaz at six years old I might have changed my vote.LOL.

For me I think it started with Queen Zixi of Ix.
I was just saying to Byte perhaps part of the attraction is the deference not given to these characters by the writers.
80s low budget fantasy films gave no ended of evil sorceress snappy dressers. They are in their way, better than Bond villainesses, who are also hot.
Upon reflection perhaps the tween girl vampire romance fascination is perfectly understandable. It has many of the same traits. That said, Edward Cullen is to much of a push over, reminds me a little of Scott Evil.
ETA: Who is the girl behind her?
