I'm going to look into it at some point. The only problem is I don't really want to deal with home ownership. Mowing lawns, repairing stuff that breaks, home owner's insurance, etc. Other than that it is probably a good decision. Plus then I could finally get the right angle to set up an HD satellite dish and jump up and down without worrying about bothering the downstairs neighbors. So, there are trade offs.

Buy a condo then....silly
Seriously it's a great idea right now when everyone is selling at really low prices. We're looking at one that appraised for $435,000 and is currently selling for $160,00

I'm here. I'm bored. What's the topic?

Oh a topic... you want a topic
How about... if you could have any type of house ( money was no object) what would it be
I would totally buy this property that faces this gorgeous marshland and lake and build a two story bay and gable with a secret passage in it:)

I'd want an indoor heated pool and a room with an awesome entertainment center. Other than that I just want a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Nothing specific for those. I don't think I would ever really get that stuff though. I'd feel like a jerk spending money on extravagant stuff that I didn't need.

Hey I consider an indoor pool a requirement... come on it's a fitness aide and prevents aging, and provides relaxation, and... ( I could keep going)

Anybody else think it's funny for someone who does lots of charity work to support women's rights to go out and get a princess pinata for a kid's birthday party? "Here kids take this stick and go beat the heck out of this princess." I don't think those two go together very well.

I would have a large house with at least 8 bedrooms in it, two stories, four bathrooms, a sun room, and a little two bedroom cottage in the back yard and a nice fence around it, a yard big enough for a garden and lots of big beautiful trees. Hopefully it is within walking distance of a stream or lake that I can swim in, but not too far out in the toolies. I would turn it into the group home that I want to own someday and we'd look after touched folk and it would be grand.
But if it were just me and I wasn't going to turn the house into my establishment I wouldn't be so particular, but I still want two stories.
