The 4th Annual Browncoats Backwoods Bash!
Saturday, Sept 17th, 10:30am- ?? pm
At The Waterfall Shelter, Lower Cascades Park, Bloomington IN
Yes, we're still flyin'! It will be hard to top last year's Bash, but we're going to try. This year, we've moved the event to the center of Southern Indiana. This should make it a little easier for folks to get to, and yet still enjoy that "Backwoodsy" feel of the past events. It's a great location, in a wooded park across the stream from a really cool playground, and a short walk from a seasonal waterfall. There's a Buddhist Monastery about half a Block away. So you can't beat the setting!
As always, the Backwoods Bash is a FREE pitch-in Picnic for Charity. Good Dogs and other meats will be provided, along with some drinkables. You help out with the rest. There will be a large screen TV for airing 'Verse related videos, and a swag table with loads of BC collectibles. Among the swag will be several items related to our Feature Film this year, "The Ruins of Du Khang". There will be an Autographed Poster, an autographed Comic Book based on the film, and even a prop from RoDK. We will also have items like Serenity keychains, The Shepherd Book Graphic Novel, and other verse-related swag. Cash and/or checks with ID will be gladly accepted. As is the case every year, the proceeds from the swag table and silent Auction will go to Middleway House of Bloomington, a shelter for abused women and children.
We have some special guests this year. Michael Vick and Jeremiah Boyd are the Director and ScreenWriter, respectively, of "The Ruins of Du Khang", a Firefly/Serenity inspired Fan Film. They and Several Cast Members will be attending our Bash, and we'll watch the Film either during or right after the "Good Dogs" portion of our Day. We'll have a Q&A session as well.
We will have a Costume Contest again this year, so get together your best Sereniverse-related costume.

Dawn~Marie will be just over six months old, so expect to see her wearing something Sereniverse. She has Serenity onesies (I aim to misbehave, etc), but a little Zoe outfit? that would be shiny! You ARE going to join us this year, right???

Delta Dawn what's that costume you've got on?
Could it be
a Serenity from days gone by?
And did I hear you say...
You were a leavin' this 'verse today?
Gonna ride our own sweet spaceship in the sky!!
Yes, barring WW3, we will be there with bells on...And I'm bringing flan for the flans! hehehe
Been wantin' to use that one for a while...I like the name, bet it's as cute as she is!
edit for second verse**
Dawn Marie...Are you a fan of Serenity?
Your daddy is the man named T.D. Brown
And you don't need to cry
'cause they can't take away our sky...
Ain't no way that old Fox is gonna keep us down!
