Hubby doesn't like Janis...I think he's still missing a piece of his soul, somewhere's...

My song of the day (sorry I'm too tired to find it now) is Night Ride Across the Caucasus by Lorena Mckennit...

Kwicko...Your first two are cool, Haven't seen them before...

Kwicko,
Great songs. I like Oren Lavie. Very good.
A while back you turned me on to 'The Decemberists' and for that I am greatful.

Here are some more from my playlist:

If he doesn't like Janis, he probably won't like Robert Johnson either.

I absolutely loathed and detested "Lovefool" by The Cardigans, because it was such an earworm of a song, and it would literally get stuck in my head for days on end.

Little did I realize how much I would grow to love Nina Persson as a singer, though.

Glad you liked The Decemberists. They can be kind of addictive.

I'm sure she will/is, it seems like that kind of mindless crap that teens would buy. At least it's educational as they'll get to learn the order of days in a week.

Here in the UK there is a show called Russell Howards Good News and this has been featured on it but it's the first time I've heard the whole song.
Wow. Those 'lryics' are incredibly inane and that fake 'perma-grin' is just creepy. I'll ignore her grating voice as it's obviously been put through a machine.

It's things like this that put me off listening to any modern music. Most of the bigger artists I liked have faded away or sold out to the younger generation. These days it all seems to be R'N'B based where they deliberately mispell their names and every song seems to be featuring someone else.
I guess I've reached that age where I don't understand youth music.

Five years ago I came across Andrew Bird

Have a look at his drummer who is also playing the keyboards at the same time!
