No need to worry about me, gang. I just had the flu or something. I'm better now (and back on food, finally). Hubby was most considerate and took excellent care of me. 'Course, I didn't see either of the boys for 3 days while I holed up in the bedroom, recuperating. LOL.
Whatever you guys decide to do with Kaylee is just fine by me. Like I said, I don't think you'll have any problems finding a new Engineer.

Eeep! Now I'm catching up on my reading after my long weekend away from civilization. I see Decoy sort of put me on the spot on Saturday by using the intercom to find Jayne. I'll get to posting for Jayne as soon as I can, but I'll have to finish reading and fit Jayne's response to that in. I might have to do a little time travel here. =)
EDIT: I think everything is under control. I had to skip that long Inara and Mal interchange for now, but I'll get to it.
Hexx, eh? Is he fixin' to be a bad guy? Is Hexx joining the crew of Serenity on New Hokkaido, or is he doing a spin-off like Slight?

Boomer: Sorry to see you leave if only temporarily (I hope!) I think you did a wonderfull job with Kaylee. Maybe a break from her will give a fresh perspective? TTFN.
Capn:Hexx is NOT looking for a "hootchie momma" as Eveningstar. Just a foil for Hexx's character. Maybe Evengstar is not what she appears to be. Dark motives of her own, perhaps.
Saint:I'm trying to write Hexx as an anti-hero. Like Eastwood in the spaghetti westerns. I like it when you get a nice juicy character that likes to do surprising things once in a while. Unpredictable. No spin-off in the works yet, but was playing with the idea of maybe doing some short stories and posting them as a kind of serial of Hexx's adventures. Nix to the joining Serenity crew. Don't think he'd do too well in social environment. Less coordination with other characters is a plus. Want to pursue new and different topics in the FIREFLY universe. Expand on basic premises introduced in the series.

Hey all, I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a week vacation. I'll post one more time tonight to get Damon to the infirmery and then his bunk until I get back.
Capn, I know we planned to have Mal talk to Damon on the catwalk but I think it's better if Damon's in his room while I'm gone. Maybe he can catch him on his way out.
