Wish, I'm really sorry about your dad, that has got to be really hard, especially since he isn't that old. Sending you warm wishes and prayers, I hope you guys are mannaging okay, well, as okay as can be expected during this difficult time.

A family friend of mine passed away at the age of 81 during surgery on the 27th of March. She was 81 so lived a long life, but her passing was unexpected. We had her memorial service on Mon. and we will miss her, she is the grandma of someone who is very special to me and we loved spending time with Gammy too, it didn't matter that I wasn't her real granddaughter, she still cared for me and I cared for her too.

But I don't think that compares to the loss you must be feeling Wish, I only mention it because you said we could mention people we've lost recently. I hope your family is coming together and holding strong during this time.

I meant what I said. I appreciate your thoughts and your post, sincerely.

I've been around enough to know anyone who sticks by ya... is family. And you can never have enough old people family. The only gran I've ever had is 86 so I'm hopin she's one of them that's still giving a coherent interview for her 100th birthday...

The lyrics to a song I love for you, Wish:

Our love is an old love baby it's older than all our years
I have seen in strange young eyes familiar tears
We're old souls in a new life baby
They gave us a new life to live and learn
Some time to touch old friends and still return

Our paths have crossed and parted this love affair was started long long ago
This love survives the ages in its story lives are pages
Fill them up may ours turn slow

Our love is a strong love baby we give it all and still receive
And so with empty arms we must still believe
All souls last forever so we need never fear goodbye
A kiss when I must go...no tears...in time...we kiss hello

It's been a rough month here...
lost my grandmother on March 13, I'm just grateful my mom was able to be here to be with her mother in the end...
lost the wonderful family cousin, who was the cantor at my husband and I's wedding, very quickly to cancer on March 27...
lost my grandfather on April 5...

Parts of me are numb to it all by now, from this and the grind of grad school. Wondering when it all will finally hit me. Makes me appreciate the time I have with family and friends, both those here and across the country.

Thank you, Wishimay, for putting up this thread. My condolences for your loss.

No power in the 'verse can stop me!
