In the theater, it was Sucker Punch last week, Source Code coming up this weekend.

The last DVD I watched was "Bug" directed by William Friedkin and starring Ashley Judd and Harry Connick, Jr. Very weird, should be right up PirateNews' alley with all the talk of conspiracy theories.

Streaming from Netflix has been the Millennium trilogy of films based on the books by Stieg Larsson. Now I find out there was a six episode mini-series after the movies, so I need to find that since the movies were very good. I have no interest in the upcoming American remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

I saw Little China last year, a bizarre movie, it had some lil' plot holes, some stuff that didn't add up, but it was like I couldn't turn away because it just got more outrageous as I went, it was entertaining.

Lately I watched Lord of the Flies, (I've always loved that movie), and Gattaca (first time for me to see it, it was good) and and Speed 2 (again first time for me, didn't really enjoy it that much, too much action and not enough talking, I was having trouble following it.) that is what I watched this weekend, I rarely watch movies on weekdays, movies are something I do with my dad and that's when I'm with him, I don't have time for them during the week because that's my computer time.

Just finished watching The Millenium Trilogy ("The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", "The Girl Who Played With Fire", "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest"). Fantastic, although the third one feels like a direct continuation of the second one (as in, it feels like they cut from the final scene, and picked up exactly there in the next movie, with no time having passed and no new storyline coming about, just a continuation of the previous one, more or less).

Love Lisbeth Salander. I'd highly recommend the films for Frem, because I think he'd relate to it on a lot of levels, although there's some pretty freaking horrifying shit in them, too.

Wathced "Unstoppable" on Blu-Ray last week, on someone's recommendation. I will no longer accept this person's recommendations for what a "good" movie is.

I did not fall asleep. I can definitely say that. The movie seems to be premised around the mind-numbing question of "how much shit can we pile on the train tracks before it finally gets noticed by a train?"

In fairness, though, I can say this: Of all the train movies Denzel Washington and Tony Scott have made in the last two years, this was one of them. If I really wanted to heap on the adulation, I'd amend that statement thusly (and they can feel free to use this as a cover blurb for the Director's Cut): "This is the best train movie Scott and Washington have done together this year!"

Hey, I replied before I read your post - I just finished the Millenium Trilogy myself! I'll buy it on Blu-Ray. Didn't know about the min-series either; have to hit the local indie video store, since they do the "art house" and offbeat stuff better than anyone else around here.

Planning on tracking down "Exit Through the Gift Shop" soon, now that it's finally out on DVD.

It seems that the Millennium mini-series was expanded versions of the movies, an hour or more of footage for each, or a total of approximately four and a half hours more than the theatrical versions. As of yet they have not been released on Region 1 DVD.

Source Code is a good little film buried under predictable Hollywood trappings. Better than it had any right to be, but not as good as I was expecting from Duncan Jones, who gave us Moon two years ago. I'll bet the ending would have been different if he had written it.
