Hardcore doesn't mean large enough to sustain a series.
A 50 plus year comic book series with an iconic character that is still going to this day is a little bit different than Firefly. A show that nobody knew anything about, and had to establish a fanbase from nothing. Hell, the majority people that post on this site are converts that didn't watch the original airings. When I mentioned Wonder Woman fans are hardcore I didn't mention that the fanbase is also a substantial amount of people. All the people that buy the comic book will view the tv show. Firefly didn't have that luxury.
When Wonder Woman gets the OK for a second season, you may want to rethink your statement. If I'm wrong, you can resurrect this thread and shame me, but that isn't going to happen.

I invoke Smallville advisedly; this looks to have as much in common with the "real" Diana of Themyscira as EmoClark did with the real Superman.
David E. Kelley is no Gail Simone. I'd imagine a lot of Wonder Woman fans will recognize this as the cheap, vaguely offensive stereotype-fest it's shaping up to be.

True. I'm not saying it's going to be good, but at any rate it still has much more going for it than a show no one has ever heard of.

This was more my idea of the new Wonder Woman..

What happened to the "gold old red white and blue". Seems a deliberate removal of patriotic inconography, an essential - not accidental - attribute of the character.

Personally I think the headband has to go and those primary colours need toning down some. Hence:
But it's still an awful costume. Needs a total redesign.

Red is fine for the boots. I just think their design is bad. Something with less heel and more utilitarian.

True enough, but it's also true that Smallville has gone for ten years.
Facts are stubborn things.

This is my fear.
Don't get me started on the costume problems. The folks at http://www.tencentticker.com/projectrooftop/ said it pretty well.
