You know what grinds my gears?

CTTS, dear, you ARE talking to Wulf, you know... The freedoms he espouses are only those HE wants at any given moment, and he contradicts himself constantly (as you pointed out). As to why it might bother him (as an AWFUL lot of the world does...exceedingly!), this thread is about what grinds one's gears, right? I think Wulf's gears get ground by many, many things, and we were invited to speak them.
I buy organic when I can afford it, and here, too, it's not much more expensive than regular. As to three trees growing, etc., given the state of our agriculture, things like that don't even register! Nonetheless, given he'd rather stuff himself with pesticides and call everything he hates "hippie", his love of pesticides is just evolution in action, yes?
On the other hand, one that was missed until Wulf brought it up, and is very on-point to me: “- People who do other stuff in their car besides keeping their eyes on the road and DRIVING.” Damn straight.

-Reality T.V. shows.
-Medicine ads, with the never ending side effects at the conclusion. "May cause anal leakage, hair loss, vomiting, the ability to see thru time, shortness of breath..."
All to treat a disease that they made up in the first place. Restless leg syndrome? Wtf is that? Stop drinking coffee for goodness sake.

Well, this is a worthless thread.

Wulf. Post something that's not a complaint or a music video. ;)
I think you're asking far too much of him.

I agree with Wulf on both of those, except for RLS. It's a very real problem, and has been for a long time for those of us who take psychotropics, just to educate you on the issue (not that you care). It's caused by meds only, has no natural causes; just another one of those "cute" side effects Big Pharma wants us to ignore. RLS is DAMNED difficult for those who suffer from it, and they have any rational person's sympathy for what they suffer. Which of course leaves you out, Wulf.
Sometimes those of us with severe physical disorders (including, but not limited to, mental illness) have to learn to live with side effects that you couldn't even HANDLE, little man. Nonetheless, yes, I hate what has happened to America with regard to medicine and advertising, too. We'll see an ad on TV and Choey or I will pipe up how that med affected us...not only did it not do it's job, it CAUSED more problems. I would disuade anyone from ever taking Lunesta, which ended in suicide for a friend of Choey's, or ambien (which most people have found TOTALLY useless), and many more.
Big Pharma definitely has Americans convinced they need meds for things they don't, and is making tons of money off our attitude of "take a pill for it". I HATE their being allowed to advertise at ALL. At the same time, I'm kind of glad they've come up with SOMETHING for RLS, which people have been suffering from for decades.

Actually that was me who brought it up, not Wulf.

Really Kwickie? LOL...Nice to see you gays can use wikipedia. You wouldn't know a clutch if your boyfriend shoved it in your ass...twice.
Meh, I've changed more than a few clutches. If yours is a pain in your ass, you've likely got the pilot shaft in the wrong hole, or you've blown a seal or thrown out a throwout bearing. But you already know all about getting shafts in your wrong hole...
Remember, I used to make money building and tuning racing Hondas, up to and including developing and building custom-geared racing transmissions. Clutches and synchronizers are no big whoop to me. Biggest trick to rebuilding a Honda transmission is getting the thrust washers in in the correct orientation - they're tricky, and getting it wrong means the shifter fork for the 2-3 gears will bend over time, and you'll be looking at a full transmission rebuild. Better to do it right the first time. I learned that one the hard way, but fortunately, I learned it on my own car, not on a customer's car.
I also built the transmission in my "just for fun" weekend car, just to see how far we could stretch things with off-the-shelf Honda parts. A 4.43:1 final drive source from a Japanese-market Honda Integra with the DOHC 1.6 "ZC" engine, a Mugen-Honda clutch-type limited-slip differential (LSD), also from the Japanese home market (JDM), the first-thru-fourth gears from that ZC transmission, and the fifth (overdrive) gear from a US-spec CRX-HF, spinning the driver's side intermediate shaft from a 4WD '88-'92 Wagovan, putting power through Zaxles racing CV axles, all fed by a mildly breathed-on SOHC D16A6 Si engine with zero external mods, but plenty of internals, adds up to a fun little sleeper CRX that runs pretty comfortably with the new 197hp Civic Si, while getting significantly better mileage.
Wiki won't tell you most of that info. Have to check out d-series.org, Honda-Tech.com, or the crxcommunity.org.

LMAO, While it entertains us, getting us gearheads on a roll is kind of like provoking the verbal equivalent of a monster truck when you're standing on the other side of a line of cars, innit ?
Prolly of itself drives people nuts - of course, my verbal "weapon of choice" when I dun wanna talk to someone and want to make them go AWAY without being obvious about it, is to drone on about my cats, hehehe.
