Im on facebook and just today unliked the Help Nathan Buy Firefly. I think us at fff.net should make a statement that we want nothing to do with any of this Resurrection. When im reading the comments, and things that are said to Maurissa Tancharoen. I do not want to even be affiliated with these new insane Browncoats. They are making us look bad.

This is what Maurissa Tancharoen posted 12 hours ago:
"Guys, no one in the Whedonverse is in support of www.helpnathanbuyfirefly.com. Please save your money!"

Then she posts this 3 hours later:
"We know you all love #Firefly and that's why we love you. Wanted to let the dust settle but wow, the flak. Just doing what I was supposed to"

Even the comments that are left on the facebook page dont acknowledge her as a Whedon and are ignoring what she said and are giving her a hard time, and now there even starting to diss Joss himself. AT first i liked it now its just sad. These new browncoats are just trying to hard and makign us all look bad.

I think it's over. I mean the campaign site posted that it's not happening after her comment. So, really there's no need to denounce it or anything. I also doubt that all the campaign supporters are bashing her or Joss. Probably just a vocal minority who are upset. It happens.

You're right. We do need to make a statement from fireflyfans, and we need to make it on the Help Nathan Buy Firefly facebook page.

And we need to make it en mass, so that we can start to drive the direction of the conversation.

I see a danger from all of this. If fans are starting to turn on the actors and the Whedons we run the risk of breaking the base.

The fandom will split into two sides, the ones who feel like they've been failed by the people they trusted, who will be very angry at them and the rest of the fandom for not trying hard enough. In turn, other people will be angry at those fans for being insulting to the show producers and actors.

Insults of "true fan" will be volleyed back and forth. The fandom will become an unpleasant and angry place, and will never be able to accomplish anything cooperative again.

We need to think of something we can all say, some canned response to help defuse the situation.

Most of the posts on the FB page are in the vein of "It was nice while it lasted. Glad to show support for the show. Thanks for everyone's effort."

Only a few idiots are trying to shoot the messenger (one such troll liked his own comment after it met with an apparent silence).

Nah, don't do that. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, the saga is over.

We should instead focus our attention back on to supporting Joss, Nathan, and the rest of the cast and writers in their current endeavors.

Not necessary. Whoever runs the Fireflyfans.net facebook page could post on the HNBF page that the browncoats over here are perfectly sane and in no way support the bashing of Whedon family members.

That would be me, but I can't post as FIREFLYFANS.NET because it's a fan page and not an actual FB account. Nearly all the postings that go onto that fan page is done by the beta site itself.
