To be fair, the site was only asking for pledges and hadn't started taking money yet.

If they had confirmed that Jose Molina and Jane Espenson were backing them, I would've tossed them a few dollars myself. I was waiting to hear if they had attracted the attention of official support.

Yeah, clearly Fillion doesn't give a crap.

Whilst people like Patrick Rothfuss are wiling to donate big amounts of money.

The campaign should remove Filion from the name.

I'm assuming we can still post about this here - as opposed to whedonesque where they just delete all messages - being the Firefly haters they are.

Yes, you can still post here if you like, its a free forum, I see that you have very vehiment feelings about it. Some people were really excited about the idea, some were skeptical, lots of varying opinions. I leaned more towards the skeptical side of things but I know many people were really plugging for it to work. You can post here if you like.

Maybe I should start a campaign for browncoat patience and taking of deep breaths. Maybe then we wouldn't have so many of these failed websites under our belts. It doesn't look all that good IMO.

Without a direct line to Fox execs, how else do you expect the myriad of fans to keep trying? As soon as I get an indication that there IS an official attempt being made to create more Firefly, I'll 'lie down'.

Done (gifted several sets of DVDs I think I'm up to having bought about six sets!), done, and done - live in NZ so no Browncoat Ball though .... still no official attempt for more Firefly.... not lyin' down anytime soon.

I'm not saying it will work. I'm just saying that's what I think fans should do. Be fans. Let the studios be studios, the networks be networks and the producers be producers. It may not get us what we want but I don't think trying to take over the role of other people is going to work.

That's cool. What role do you think I'm trying to take on? As the usual methods of showing support in a show (which has never been aired by ANYONE in New Zealand - hooray for DVDs), aren't working.
