Day Eight of the Wisconsin Protests brings yet another plot twist. The official Committee on Senate Organization authorized a rule change that will force the 14 Democrats who have been hiding out across state lines in Illinois to show up for work if they expect to get paid. As reported in the Green Bay Press Gazette:

Wisconsin state senators who miss two or more session days will no longer get paid through direct deposit. They’ll have to pick up their checks in person on the Senate floor during a session.

The new rule is aimed at forcing the return of 14 Senate Democrats who have been hiding in Illinois since Thursday. They fled the state to stall a vote on an anti-union bill, and have threatened to stay away until Republican Gov. Scott Walker agrees to compromise.

Tuesday’s vote was along party lines. The three Republicans on the Committee on Senate Organization voted for it and the two Democrats opposed it.

Miss two days of “work,” no more direct deposit. The new rule applies to paychecks, per diem payments, and expense reimbursements

The two democrats that voted against just fled the state. If I knew it was this easy to get Dems out of my state, I would have pushed my governor to try the same.

They're only paid peanuts in their govt paycheck. The real payoff is by legalized bribery from the lobbyists (unions) that pay 1,000% more.

The traditional way of getting them to vote is to drag them back kicking and screaming by police arrest.

State Rep. Michael Tryon (R-Crystal Lake) said he will sponsor legislation to impose the state’s 5-percent individual income tax on the out-of-state lawmakers while they are here to avoid votes on union-busting legislation in their home states and ostensibly working.

“If you’re a movie star and come here and work, we’ll tax you. If the Green Bay Packers come to Soldier Field and play a game, they are paying the income tax,” Tryon claimed.

“But we have legislators from Wisconsin who are working here for the purpose of denying a quorum. We know they’re working here because they say that on TV. When you work in Illinois, you ought to pay the tax,” Tryon said.

HILARIOUS....Man, I can't take much more of this. It just gets funnier by the day.
