You're thinking of the Fernbank IMAX - yeah it only shows science films/documentaries. The IMAX at the Mall of Georgia shows regular movies though. Not many, but it does show them. Last I checked anyway. Yeah, it is possible Universal won't go for it, but I can still dream.

Nashville here (is that considered deep south). We, (a coworker and myself) have converted several others and we are all looking forward to the BDM!!! We'll be getting together for a Shindig on that happy day!
And I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an over abundance of schooling. Mal - Train Job

I am not worried about the bullet with my name on it. Just the thousands marked "Occupant".
I'm from Dallas. I read that you are opening a shop. Can you post some info on that? Thanks.
Count me in: I live in Fort Worth.
Caldeen, awesome name for a game shop. I am big into not only RPGs and LAN games but Boardgames like Goa, Puerto Rico, A Game of Thrones, etc. If you don't stock the leet boardgames, you should think about it.
I will tell my friends and we will make a trek out to your store.

CaptainDC, we should eyeball one another some time. I know some area Browncoats who aren't online but are passionate just the same. They'll never make a Meet Up but are happy to have insta-shindigs.
As for IMAX movies, the trend for new release prints may already be on the way out. Disney is pretty much the only studio/distributor who will still put the cash up and even they're cutting back.
That said, with the right projection system, you can actually run DVDs on the big screen. The rates, though, are prohibitive. Say, $350 an hour to rent the theatre. I have an in with the IMAX around here so I can do some querying if anybody would be interested in a shindig ep viewing on or before the big day. I tried to put one together awhile ago, but very few people wanted to travel to Our City of Perpetual Potential.
