I shall presume my answer of ..is there a difference? will not be the correct one.

Ok here's a ponder
What is it with guys and sports? Why do you watch it and why do you care who wins?

Guys are usually raised to be competitive. Sports are all about competition. Plus the good ones are heavy on the strategy component. You can have a quarterback with the strongest arm and the fastest legs but if you don't call good plays you're in trouble. When your team wins you get to rub the other fan's faces in it. What's not to like?

The real question is if you ladies like dancing and shoe shopping so much why aren't you trying to make those more like sports so we'll be interested in them?

What Zeek said. My mother got me into watching the Packers, so it is not just us guys. There are a lot of women into sports.

Mainly we don't make them like sports because we we don't want you interested. We want you to compliment the results.
As for the dancing thing...meh
I just can't figure the sports thing out because I become bored too easily and I really don't see why it matters who wins. It's just a game:)

And shoes are just a piece of leather. Who needs more than 1 pair?

And that pair better be black patten leather with five inch heels.

Do you own only one pair of pants? or only one shirt?
In which case you need a pair of shoes for every outfit.
BTW one of the first things a woman will check out on a guy are his shoes. Does he know dress shoes go with dressy clothes? Are his shoes age appropriate? Do they show some recognition of basic fashion sense ( are they out of date or wildly mismatched)?
This is the guidepost to what kind of guy he is. If it's too nice, we know he's self obsessed. If they are really hopeless it tells you he's not good with details and has no real job prospects ( also side note many employers also make similar judgments)If they are age inappropriate you know the guy has issues with accepting responsibility and immaturity. If they are regimented and stiff, you know the guy is boring. If they are totally awesome and his appearance is super manicured and perfect...he's gay.
So really shoe obsession is an overarching dissection of your personality, employment prospects, IQ, attention to detail, and likelihood of sexual orientation.
Does that help?

That's what guy's do with women's boobs. Do you suggest all women give in and get implants unless they have perfect boobs? Or do you just admit that anyone who makes those kinds of superficial judgements aren't worth it?

Well boobs you have little to no control over without massive and expensive surgery. Shoes are a daily choice. It's a bit superficial, but I am telling you. Any guy wearing a suit and tennis shoes is immature.
