I'm not sure it's ever been confirmed that Trip does or doesn't know The Cape really is his father. I like to believe he's aware, but won't say anything, thinking his mom will think he's traumatized or something.

That said, this show is okay IMO. I just think it moves too slow.

But they are two different things, and the news item quoted is NOT about the show being cancelled.

I still stand by my assertion that the title is misleading (and a quick skim through some of the comments seems to support the potential confusion).

I fail to see how "cut" in a misleading term, when it's exactly what happened. They cut their order.

Because "NBC cuts THE CAPE" could also just as easily indicate that they cut the series from their line-up... as I already noted.

Just because you're not confused doesn't mean that other people aren't (again, skim some of the comments).

If you don't have anything constructive to add, please don't reply. "My opinion is that your opionion is wrong" is a argument for argument's sake and a waste of both our time and of thread space (especially since my reply was intended for the OP, NOT for someone like you).

The thread title is fine IMO and is an accurate term for what has occured, although I get the point that you're making. But if anyone read the title, thought that it meant cancelled and then didn't read any further they would be fools to themselves. It clearly states in the first line of the first post (and the linked article) that episodes have been cut. If it had actually been cancelled then I'm sure the thread title would have stated that.

I've just re-read all the posts and no one is saying that this definitely means cancellation or that it has been cancelled, just that it is highly likely. No one appears confused. Hence the use of the word 'precursor' in Storymark's post. It's the dark cloud and thunder before the rain hits. It's the warning shot across the bow.

I'm not confused by the title but I think it's canceled.

I mean it's basically semantics at this point right? Is a person on death row dead if they are out of appeals? Not technically but it's not far off.

I'm with Lwaves too. No real development between the carny/circus people and the Cape. Summer underused and ill conceived. The son, not even a decent actor. Aside from Summer, I really like Keith David as Max and the Cape's wife does a decent job. As far as character development, it seems to me that the writers didn't develop a back-story for the actors to sink their teeth into (sometimes actors do that to get into the character's motivation). I agree that the carny people/cop dynamic would have been interesting in the right hands. I don't think they really know which direction the show should take. Yes, it's a superhero story, but just are they gonna tell it. Pacing, timing, theme and story are critical for a good show. I don't think Mr. Wheeler has quite figured that out. Too bad, it had potential.

Can't say I am surprised I tried to watch this and get into it. I just couldn't, there was just to much bad in it sadly. Sucks for Summer wish she could finally get on a good series and it not get canceled.
