Firefly:Truth is a brand-new PbeM simulation based upon the Firefly television series. It takes place on a Firefly-class cruiser named Truth with Captain Maven Stephens in the year 2518 (the year after the series). Stephens is a former Shepherd from Bellerophon. During the War, Stephens preached against the Alliance's oppression of the Browncoats. He was defrocked and banished from the Core Worlds for his preaching. He stole several artifacts from the abbey on Bellerophon and sold them on the black market. With the money, he bought the Truth. He moved with the ship to the border world of New Melbourne.

The Truth's adventures center around New Melbourne and the Red Sun. Episodes will begin the beginning of March and will be on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis. Posting guidelines are rather lax with the exception of two per month to keep your character active.

The first episode (March-May) will focus on developing on-ship dynamics between the crew. Subsequent episodes will focus on character development for each individual character (in order of application). Throughout this year, we'll focus more on character development than plot advancement. After the characters are sufficiently developed, we'll move into more adventurous episodes.

First Mate
Second Mate
Pilot
Engineer
Doctor

Applications for any other crew/passengers will also be graciously accepted and considered.

You don't have to be an expert on the Firefly universe to play (I'm not). The group's page will have most of the resources you'll need under the Files and Database section within the next couple of months.

If you're eager for a new adventure, please send your characters my way.

One thing I didn't know is pbem stands for play by e mail...

You should know that while the word maven comes from Yiddish and means a person with extraordinary skills or knowledge, the name is also an Irish translation of the name Mabel...

Ironically, It's also my daughter's name, heh...She was named after her great-great-grandmother Mabel...
