I guess I was so into the movie, that when Hugo came on screen I was like... " Heh... there's that guy from The Matrix ", but I didn't find it anywhere a LOL moment.

OMG, yes exactly! I was so annoyed by that delivery. Have you ever heard Hugo Weaving speak in his normal voice? It's a lovely light tenor with a great accent. Why couldn't he have just done that??
And yeah, not exactly elvin pretty, either. His daughter is the Evenstar, it's not like human blood necessarily makes elves less pretty.
He's only in frame for about a second before he starts talking, so it may well have been a response to the line delivery. Or just Agent Smith in the wig, I guess. Since I haven't seen the screening version, hard to know just when the laughing started.
I do not need the written code of a spiritual belief to act like a decent human being.

As I recall, it was more a image thing, from as soon as he came on screen, than what was said.
It's been a while, obviously, but always stuck w/ me. No biggie.

Hello,
I did not giggle out loud, but I did inside.
I had watched Matrix many times, (the only place I'd seen Weaving) and had even practiced delivering his character's lines. He has a great delivery, very unique.
Anyhow, yes, it was seeing Agent Smith as Elrond, for me. I got over it, but initial reactions are what they are.
