Hi Everyone,

I was a frequent visitor to FFF years ago, but I wanted to come back and share a picture of this awesome Firefly tattoo I just got.

I was wondering if anyone had ideas for touchups that could make it look even better? I think I might get the flames in the back bigger so that it looks like it's propelling more.

How long did that take?

It took two sessions that lasted about 2.5 hours each.

The first session was doing all the outlines and creating the space background. Everything was done in black with shading for space.

The bulk of the second session was spent on making the space blue - this normally doesn't take long, but with so many other things going on, it took extra care to not cross any lines.

The very top of it hurt a little, but other than that, it didn't hurt that much - I kept myself busy playing Angry Birds.

Don't add flames to Serenity because admirers will have to stroll around you to see the entire tattoo. For example:

DARWIN54's tattoo is the best of the three I've seen. It is perfection. But if you want to go beyond perfection, add red and green navigation lights that flash on and off when you flex your biceps.

Truly shiny Tat. I would get either bigger flames or the chinese character for Serenity.

Bigger tattoos aren't always better. Jewel Staite's Pink Pegasus (should have been Serenity) got overwhelmed by the background decoration of stars and blue cloud. Darwin54's tattoo has also got the stars and blue background. That is more than enough. Going farther could ruin it. Start a new tattoo -- on the other shoulder. Blue Sun?

I think one FF tattoo is enough. I have much smaller BTVS and ATS tattoos, but I'm honestly running out of places to put these things.

There are some quotes from Firefly/Serenity I really like, but I'd have to think about where to put them first.
