Or are you an UNDERHANDED person?

Roll? I just stick on on the counter. Much quicker the pick up the TP from the bottom, grab the edge and rotate your wrist a few times to free some of it up and then just rip. Easier and you don't have to keep undoing the roller thingy when you run out.

Ehn, true. Mine's on the counter more often then it is on the roller. Technically I guess it's supposed to be on the roller, but who has time for that?

Thanks to my wife and all her stuff, there's no room on our bathroom counter. :/

There's no room on our bathroom counter for a roll of toilet paper as it's cluttered with all my wife's toiletries and sundry decorative crap. hahaha ;)

I'm NOT going to start the seat up or down debate.

^ Sure you're not.

But as for Jayne, I think a few things have been spot on.

He grew up somewhere where almost everything has a price, maybe not Badger's 'all is potential money/status' price(hence Badger's line of work), but a sense of possible tradeoffs. There must be an exchange for everything.

This would really feed into his extremely pro/con way of viewing the world.

And while I think Jayne can have a sweet side, people read too much into what that all entails. Mostly I agree with what has been said about how he likes to treat those women he does have no-strings sex with gently--because why would he otherwise? There's no gain--he's not a sadist, and these women wouldn't be in a relationship with him where he could control them, cow them, scare the living daylights out of them.

No, I think Jayne's fight--his uneasiness, annoyance and one-upping--is with men. Women are for cooking, and some less-charged conversations, joking, and 'trim'. Generally nonthreatening.

I think Jayne has his life pretty compartmentalized--he's killing when he's killing and sexing when he's sexing and cleaning guns when he's not doing anything else. Not necessarily a one-track mind(as he has unfortunately been simplified to, in innumerable fics), but he's 'childlike' in the way that he does all of them pretty much singlemindedly when he has his opportunity. Again, I think this has something to do with practical trade-offs.

Literature class: The whore may have tamed Gilgamesh, but notice they don't stay together beyond a week of sex, much less a relationship or wedded with hundreds of fat children. 'Taming' Jayne would be about like that.

As for father/authority figures, notice that Jayne only openly bucks Mal when 2 things happen:

1. Mal fails to 'provide'--either they didn't get paid, don't have a job, or are risking their pay/necks for an emotional return rather than a physical or monetary one.

2. Mal is humiliated in some way--Jayne gets really uppity at this point, either seeing his chance or reverse projected empathy, I don't know. Maybe both.

Just some thoughts.

---

Going for a ride.

hahaha I'm a hard-core feminist! Perfect equality. Each can leave the seat the way they used it and deal with the seat the way they find it. ;)

...but shut the door so the dog doesn't get into it. hahaha

You sir, are a true Browncoat. I need to resume my duties.
*rumbles around a very dusty closet and occasionally a random coat flies out. Finally finding one in the very back, pulls out a very dusty virtual Browncoat, dusts it off to clouds of dust and hands it to Toadsmoothy*
