Taking the towel from Rowan's outstretched hand, Book steps next to her and begins to dry a medium-sized pot. Walking away from her to put the pot in its place, he continues. "I don't doubt your ability to take care of yourself..." Book walks back to the sink and waits till Rowan hands him another wet pot. "but the verse takes everyone eventually, whether by accident or design."

Wash's Move:

(Wash is still crouching down practically under his console with the whirrs and growls of the helm console in his ears… He hears Thorne’s voice, but only gets the words ‘comm’ and ‘prayers’. Having no idea what he said or meant, Wash says to him): “I’m kinda in the middle of a lot of things, please use the comm on the spare shuttle, ok.” (As Wash says this, he rolls over onto his stomach to stare blankly at Thorne… then he rolls back over, never realizing he has big reddish splotchy chicken flavored protein sauce on various places on his back. Wash then slowly begins to scrub the very stubborn chicken stuff off of the helm’s air-intake.


The master mission clock on the Alliance Stardestroyer reads: 16:49 AMT (04:49pm).

In Rowan's darkened room, her sourcepad breaks the relative silence. It plays the tune that would normally signal Rowan that there is a private and urgent neo-cortex* wave message.

After the tune plays, the sourcepad falls silent and a reminder is set to play, if the alert signal sent out from the sourcepad is out of range of her handcomp. Quiet and calm again fill her room, masking the sudden chill draft that seemingly springs from the shadows splayed upon the walls. After ruffling the bedsheets, no trace remains.

*Neo-Cortex- part of the Cortex/Internet that is utilized by only the hackers of hackers. Thought to exist, but due to its shifting nature, never found by any Authorities.
