Welcome to the AU thread!
Here, you can learn all about the man hisself!

First, he works for an undisclosed Alphabet agency with the mission of interjecting right-wing ideology and beliefs into a supposed left-wing-ish website. I think we can all agree that this is an EPIC FAIL, but then, if we were truly a threat to the ways of power & profit, would they have commissioned AU???

Second, he really IS a fan of Firefly, which has made this assignment both pleasurable & difficult for him. Love Mal, love Cheney- what a dichotomy to have to operate under!

Third- feel for the guy! He's forced to act like a jerk, while agreeing in his heart with the basic principles under which Mal & Co. are forced to work.

In the end, this thread is all about AU, and HIS needs, and what's best for HIM.

Give a guy a break.

The laughing Chrisisall

You can't open the book of my life and jump in the middle....

Hmm... Is he RWED's Palin/Angle/O'Donnell: so deluded and moronic in his bigotry, so laughable in his attempts to support his blindly right-wing biases, that he only serves to energize the liberals and make the left look really, really smart and blessedly capable of reason?

Or is he a left-wing plant?

Who cares. The end result is the same.

MY thread.

I'll define me, unshaven one.

My 'bigotry'? Your humor needs much work.

My right-wing bias isn't blind, in the least. It's the result of careful, clear eyed and logical understanding of what this country was founded on, the freedoms inherent in every individual.

Some of y'all sheep only mock those freedoms, and the idea of freedom, thinking you're entitled to all manner of respect, goodies and right's to the lives and property of others.

Guess what. You aren't.

Chris.

I concur.

Rap works for Military Intelligence in Georgia. I suspect this strongly because they are a major employer in whereever GA he is, which he mentioned, and I look it up. Prior to that I thought he worked for a contractor.

Second, Rap's taste in fiction is much better than his taste in reality. I agree with you that he feels it necessary to take political positions that he probably is not 100% comfy with. I have to confess I've done it myself.

The truth is, I think each of us has, at some point, taken positions just to see what the reaction would be, or how people feel about a certain issue, if it's coming from your position. Many people thought I was doing this with distributism. I was testing the idea, but I was really genuinely surprised at the left response to the idea, which was not only friendly, but to try to own the idea. But I digress, sorry, this was about Rap.

I'll add that like many of us he has wasted far too much time in the "someone is wrong on the internet" trap.

To the contrary. I'm VERY comfortable w/ the political positions. What I think has you confused is the distorted views others try to paint me as having which are more times than not, 180 degrees from mine.

Yeah, smart point made.

Yet sometimes you oppose things you supported under Bush. Not that your detractors don't do just the opposite. Though I'll confess I don't recall you supporting bailouts ever, or opposing the war.
