I like your ponder Avery
and I'd say kids are meaner. It's become far more socially acceptable to bully past the point of just bullying and into the stalker/assault zone. It's common place for kids now to use social media to terrorize, intimidate, and basically break another kid and the other kids around them don't seem to find it out of line.

I'm not saying there was no bullying when I went to school, but it certainly wasn't generally tolerated to say make fake facebook pages and use them to get another kid kicked out of school.

I blame the internets. It's all their fault. When I was a kid the internets were barely in their infancy. So, information wasn't at the touch of a button. I never even thought about kids our age shooting people or committing suicide. So, it wasn't even in the realm of possibility. I'm guessing that if it was in the minds of kids when I was younger that some of the more sensitive ones who were bullied would go that route. Then it would be just as big of an issue as it is these days. Plus like MsA says it's just another venue for the bullying and it makes it more of a constant thing.

I agree, when I was in school, until high school internet wasn't as popular as it was now.

It seems like kids have more time on their hands to bully (and yet THEY pick people who the consider "losers"...)

Columbine happened when I was a senior and it wasn't until then did they start to crack down on bullying...and dress codes.

Sorry I am now distracted from the bullying by the disaster of my current moment. Stupid lender is going to deny our loan because our crawl space is apparently 1 foot too low...WTF!!

There was a bulletin on the ABC News Now ticker this morning saying that some bullying violated anti-discrimination laws. Don't get me wrong, bullying is wrong. But are we going to start charging children with felonies? I want to blame so many people for this but can't seem to find the right ones to blame. F-it. I'm blaming everyone. Wait, that's what got us into this mess of everyone being a victim. Damn...

On the brighter side, I am an evil, evil man. Nearly laughed up my Nilla Wafers when Johnny and I saw this on Attack Of The Show:

*cough* Just laughed my ass off again. Evil I tells ya!

That was great. I had to suppress a laugh and my mom looked at me weird...

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous to make it violate "anti discrimination laws".

I don't know, we all got bullied and unless your parents were Mother Theresa and Jesus you bullied too. Not necessarily to super mean extend we see in movies and apparently the media, but I know you all whispered something to your friend and giggled about it.

Meh, I kept to bullying assholes so I felt justified. Yeah, still wrong. But it sure made a lot of smaller weaker kids feel better about themselves.
