It seems like 'V' might not be coming back next Fall. ABC has decided to cut 3 episodes from 'V' bringing the total count for season 2 to 10.

Honestly I don't know why they brought it back for a 2nd season at all. Granted I gave up on it during the first season. So, it's possible it drastically improved. Still what I saw was pretty terrible. I think it was mainly writing though. So no offense to Morena.

I actually thought it was decent, though some of the character stuff and the writing, as Zeek said, was strained.

V is not a favourite of TPTB, though. They yanked the tainted vaccine storyline during the height of advertising for the swine flu vaccine. They want to kill it, but not look like they're killing it.

It'll be a pity if another Sci-fi show is cancelled , but to my mind V is far too rigid a show. I only caught the initial four that were aired way back, but I just couldn't stick with it. The characters were just dull.

I was liking the second season more and more each week. Morena was exciting and sexy on the show, and the last few episodes were terrific. This news just plain sucks.

The network has done everything it could to make sure this show is not popular, much the same as Firefly. Fans don't even know when it's on or not. It's not really a regular tv series, it's more like something they insert after their big-time Fall preview shows fail. V will be back in early January. 10 episodes would end around mid-March. Why even bother...

The reason they're not putting a big push behind it is it doesn't really warrant it. they advertised the hell out of it last year, and after the premiere, very few wanted to watch. It coming back at all this year was a pure hail-mary anyway.

Excellent series, but too subversive during the current US Civil War and Final Solution Project.

I agree. The second season had a much faster pace than the initial four "sleeping pill" episodes. It was still not the best show ever (far from it), but at least watchable and they even managed to retool the previously cringe-worthy teenage romance crap into something complex and intriguing. Also, seing the old X-Files rat Krycek (Nicholas Lea) again was as nice surprise.

The one non-plot related thing that bothers me is Elizabeth Mitchell's acting, but that's a personal gripe.

All in all, I am looking forward to the next batch of episodes.
