...one of which doesn't even exist. Or, at least, Angle says she "read that somewhere"

They really CAN say anything they want, and don't even care if someone calls them on it--nor do their supporters. What a wacky world we live in...![]()

It's so outrageous, I know!
Like this gem, right? "But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy."
Nancy Pelosi

Also outrageous. And stupid. But she didn't claim something existed which didn't, did she? That is, you know, called a "lie", not just "stupidity". You really want stupid quotes from Republicans? I can give 'em to you, along with plenty by Democrats. Lies from both parties, too. You really think that's a counter to the lie Angle spread? Interesting.
Surely you could do better (that's not encouragement; "but __ said __" isn't relevant to the topic).![]()

I'd vote for a pumpkin before I'd ever vote for Harry Reid. So would most Americans. So Angle's a little better than a pumpkin, and Nevadans will elect her.

Well, I guess that speaks to your intelligence level. Let's hope they're smarter than that. Although, at least a pumpkin could do no harm! We'll have to wait and see just how stupid Nevadans actually are, won't we? We'll have to see if they're willing to put a complete nutjob in power, and if we do, then we'll see how much they LIKE having her legislate. That should be fun, but I have just a teeeny bit more faith in there being enough brain cells still alive in Nevada to avoid it. Take Reid out next time, with a VIABLE candidate, don't let the Tea Party nutbag nominate a pumpkin, and don't just toss a pumpkin in to decide what's "best" for Nevada.![]()

As to "most Americans", unfortunately even Nevadans don't agree with you:Quote:
Hopefully their disapproval of Harry Reid will be outweighed by their recognition of her nutwingedness. Let's see if their dislike of Harry Reid overcomes their common sense.
The poll shows that Reid's approval rating remains low at 44%, with 53% disapproval. Angle's favorable and unfavorable ratings are even worse, at 36%-52%. In addition, only 39% of respondents said that Angle's views are "mainstream," compared to 50% who say her views are "extremist." Self-identified moderate voters hold the view of Angle being an extremist by a 68%-22% margin -- and this same group is supporting Reid by a nearly-identical margin of 64%-28%.![]()

Nice way to start a post response. If you didn't like my pumpkin reference, then I'll substitute a hamster, as long as it's trained to vote Republican and stop Obama.

Hamsters is nice

RL, you haven't backed off any of your derrogatory comments, you've just left off the obscenity and worst personal attacks. You've remained pretty fiery, so let's not call each other's kettles black, 'kay? Or not.
The statement that you'd rather vote for a pumpkin than Reid, ISN'T very intelligent--I understand what you mean, but it's still a, pardon me, stupid concept. That's all.
Hamster's not much better...albeit cuter.
There should be SOME bit of sanity in voting, even if it does no good, even if it's totally rigged (which I doubt, at least "totally"). I say again; let Reid stand until you can come up wiht a VIABLE candidate to replace him. I don't like that either, actually, but to put a nutwing like her in a place of power??
I guess the question should be "do you actually admire Michelle Bachman?" Because if you do, then yeah, I guess you'd vote for a pumpkin, or a hamster, or Sharron Angle. But I would vote for a Republican, or rather not vote which is somewhat the same thing, if, say, Alvin Greene were running on my ballot... THAT's what Im saying.![]()

Harry Reid is the president's worst enemy. The best thing that could happen for Obama in Nevada is for Sharon Angle to win. It's probably best for the rest of us, I listened to the debate. She has a head on her shoulders, and made some poignant attacks on his duplicity and corruption that he dodged, and she made it pretty level so that I think all the audience got it.
I also just watched the debate for Governor of New York. You guys should probably watch it, it was very entertaining. Alas, I couldn't support and of the conservatives, unless the Freedom Party is conservative, I'm not sure. The guy, Charles Barron, seemed pretty limited govt. and more importantly, opposed hydraulic fracturing. This radical drilling pours billions of gallons of very high level toxic waste into our water supply upstate to deliver fossil fuels to the city. It's appalling. And, alas, our conservatives support it, as do the Democrats. The only real opponents were the Socialist Green and the and the other is the Freedom Party, who many of you may know as formerly known as the Black Panthers. I'm not sure what their political position is left/right, but I have to say, maybe I'm a lunatic, but they were making a hell of a lot of common sense.
Otherwise, outside of the fracking issue, which is so important it's like living in Hiroshima and discussing Nuclear war as an issue, but if there were an "outside of this issue" I'd say libertarian Warren Redlich came off as the most level headed, and the infamous Spitzer-slaying prostitute Kristin Davis was the most entertaining. I could vote for either of them *if* they would reverse their position on Hydraulic fracturing.
I want to make an anti-fracking statement with my vote, and since I know the election is completely rigged in favor of Cuomo, I know he will win. I just want to try to send a message to him that supporting fracking will be unpopular. This tempts me to vote green. However, voting for a socialist gives me pause. It's just a question of whether or not it gives me pather paws.
Any suggestions?
Ps. If you watch, pay close attention, somewhere in there, someone points out that Paladino, the supposed tea-party republican was fronted by Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer, the two prominent NY democratic senators, amazingly corrupt people themselves. Paladino isn't a serious candidate, he's a democratic shill to lose the election. He came out of nowhere to win the primary on our brand spanking new "Electronic voting machines." Oh, who would have ever guessed such a thing ;)
