I thought the same thing. I'm really liking this season of Castle. Nothing can compare to our favorite captain, but I think Rick Castle is becoming more and more interesting interesting as a character.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Nathan Fillion places old firefly props in the background during some castle eps. Anyone else heard something of the sort or remember scenes where we can see them?

It just ate my post...

AS I was saying...

I said in another thread I feel like I'm in some perverted other universe when I see Rick Castle holdin' weaponry, specially last night...

Also, supposedly when he did that "bwah" thang last season(thinkin' it was the Halloween epp.) the "nothin part" from Out of Gas was on a shelf behind him, which is awesome...

Anybody up to taking bets on how many seasons Castle is gonna run?

Imma have to go with....8
Any takers?

Something I noticed along with the Mal-ishness of Castle in that scene was the way Alexis briefly played her grandmother when she expressed her annoyance with her dad. You can get a hint that she might turn out to be as much a diva as Granny when she hits a certain age.

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. Gotta say I scoped out that gun pretty closely half expecting it to be something sticky fingered from the set of firefly.

Not sure how long the show will get to run, but hoping it gets a nice long run. I love the show, it is smart, with excellent dialogue.

Their little credits tribute to Cannell was lovely too.

Steampunk Castle looked a little like Capn Reynolds. Wasn't that a brown coat?

On a slightly more serious note, I found the crime aspect of it intriguing. The son of a guy who lost millions in a hedge fund kills the hedge fund manager because the hedge fund manager is still rich and the guy's son is reduced to tending bar?

I guess having the guy who lost money be an average working guy while the Wall Street guy he killed was still rich would have created too much sympathy for the killer. They also tried VERY hard to show what a nice guy the hedge fund trader victim was (bought his sister an apartment, good mathematician lured into seedy Wall Street, etc.).

Basically, the show said that since the killer was a rich kid whose daddy lost the millions, it's okay that he'll spend his life in prison. I guess the audience has to WANT the killer be caught for the show to work.

What do you think?

Yes, caught that. Shameless pandering to FF fans. Please bring it on.
